Bethesda also says Fallout 5 is being developed on Creation Engine 3, alongside The Elder Scrolls VI. The studio identifies The Elder Scrolls VI as its primary development focus and says most of its team is working on that game. The note does not provide a more specific production schedule for Fallout 5.

Why a video labeled “Fallout 5 trailer” may not be official
A third-party YouTube search result from GAME Studio, dated September 9, 2025, is titled as a Fallout 5 trailer but labels the video a “Concept” and describes it as a concept trailer. That labeling means it should not be treated as Bethesda footage or an official reveal. A dramatic trailer title, fan-made visuals, or a repost does not establish that Bethesda has released gameplay.

For confirmation, look for the video or announcement on an official Bethesda channel and check whether Bethesda itself identifies it as Fallout 5 gameplay. The July 17, 2026 studio note is the latest statement covered here; later announcements could change the status.

What to play while waiting
Bethesda reports that Fallout 4 has sold over 35 million copies — Bethesda Game Studios, 2026. That figure applies to Fallout 4, not Fallout 5. Fallout 4 is an existing entry in the series, but current editions, platform availability, and seller inventory are not established by Bethesda’s note.
