No playable run is established by the available SharpEmu compatibility report. Its Windows test for Ghost of Yōtei records a black screen followed by a crash—not gameplay. The result applies to the specific SharpEmu build and report below; it does not prove the game can never run in a later version.
What the SharpEmu report actually shows
SharpEmu’s compatibility listing records Ghost of Yōtei on Windows in report 154, using build f98ff99 (release 0.0.4). The report is dated September 26, 2026, and its note says the game boots to a black screen and then crashes. It does not report a menu, rendered gameplay, or a stable session. That distinction matters: “boots” in a compatibility list does not necessarily mean a game is playable. Reaching an initial launch stage is different from displaying the game correctly, progressing into gameplay, and remaining stable. Here, the report itself describes a crash before gameplay is established.
Is Ghost of Yōtei playable on PC through SharpEmu?
Not on the evidence in this report. It documents an unsuccessful attempt to get past a black screen, so it cannot support the claim that Ghost of Yōtei reaches gameplay on SharpEmu. Compatibility can change as the emulator develops, but a later playable result would need its own current, game-specific test report.

How much performance evidence is available?
There is no verified Ghost of Yōtei frame-rate figure or benchmark for SharpEmu in the cited compatibility report. Because that test ends at a black screen and crash, describing the game as running at a particular frame rate—or as playable but slow—would go beyond what it establishes.

SharpEmu describes itself as an early-stage, experimental PS5 emulator. Its README says it can load a game’s eboot.bin, execute native CPU instructions, and partially handle GPU-related functionality. The project warns: “Platform support is still experimental, so compatibility and performance vary by game, operating system, and GPU driver.” SharpEmu’s project README.

How to judge a future compatibility claim
A new screenshot, first rendered scene, or successful boot would be useful evidence of progress, but none alone proves that the full game is playable. A meaningful report should identify the exact emulator build and game version, host operating system, GPU and driver, test date, and the furthest stage reached. It should also distinguish a boot or menu from sustained gameplay and report stability, visual or audio errors, and measured performance when those are actually tested.
Do not confuse SharpEmu’s status with milestones reported for AnyPS5, a separate project. Tom’s Hardware notes that AnyPS5’s GPU translation and reimplementation is not conventional full-system emulation, and that reaching an intro or first rendered scene is not equivalent to playing a game through. Those reports do not establish Ghost of Yōtei compatibility with SharpEmu. Tom’s Hardware’s report on AnyPS5.

Using SharpEmu
SharpEmu’s documented launch flow uses the path to an eboot.bin from a legally obtained game. The project says it is developed for research and educational purposes and does not support or condone piracy; its README says development testing uses console dumps of games the developers personally own. Follow the project’s documentation and applicable law rather than downloading unauthorized game files. Read the SharpEmu README.
