The 10 Robux amount is a separate publishing advance for making an approved classic shirt, T-shirt, or pants item available for sale. Uploading and publishing are separate steps, so a creator selling a shirt may encounter both charges.
What the 10 Robux fee actually covers
Roblox lists 10 Robux as a non-limited publishing advance for classic T-shirts, classic shirts, and classic pants. It is not the current fee to submit a classic shirt image for moderation. Roblox describes publishing advances as refundable upfront fees; the conditions for receiving a rebate are set out in its Marketplace fees and commissions documentation.
How the costs and steps differ
| Action | Cost | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Upload a classic clothing item | 80 Robux per submission | Submit the image for moderation. Roblox’s classic clothing guide gives this current upload fee. |
| Publish an approved classic item for sale | 10 Robux publishing advance | A separate advance for making a classic T-shirt, shirt, or pants item available for sale, as listed in Roblox’s Marketplace fee table. |
That means submitting an item costs 80 Robux. If you also choose to publish it for sale, the listed 10 Robux publishing advance is an additional, separate step. You can create and test classic clothing in Roblox Studio without paying a fee for that testing.
What happens if Roblox rejects the upload?
Roblox says upload fees are generally not refunded when moderation rejects an item. Treat the 80 Robux submission fee as a cost that may not be returned if the image fails moderation.

Requirements to upload or sell a shirt
Roblox’s Marketplace policy distinguishes eligibility to upload from eligibility to publish:
- To upload: the creator needs government ID verification, or a linked parental account with government ID verification, and must pay the 80 Robux upload fee.
- To publish for sale: the creator or group owner needs verification, two-step verification, a publishing advance, and Roblox Plus or a qualifying Premium membership (Premium 1000 or 2200).
- To keep existing content on sale: Roblox’s policy also requires Roblox Plus or qualifying Premium membership.
Why you may see older answers saying 10 Robux
Roblox’s July 7, 2026 Marketplace policy announcement described a planned unified 80 Robux charge for 2D uploads while retaining a 10 Robux publishing fee for 2D items. Roblox’s current Creator Hub documentation now lists 80 Robux for a classic-clothing upload and identifies 10 Robux as a publishing advance. Older explanations that call 10 Robux the current shirt upload fee conflate these separate charges. See the July 2026 announcement and the current classic clothing guide.
