The game—sometimes referred to as “Resident Evil 9”—is officially framed around new protagonist Grace Ashcroft and returning character Leon Kennedy. Treat claims about Jill’s appearance or aging as unverified unless they point to a verifiable source.
Is Jill Valentine in Resident Evil Requiem?
Capcom’s official Requiem materials reviewed here do not identify Jill as a character. They focus on Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy instead. That does not prove Jill cannot appear, but it means the claim that she is in the game—and therefore looks young in it—is not confirmed by these sources.

A third-party headline asking why Leon is 50 while Jill and Claire “don’t age” reflects fan curiosity, not confirmation of Jill’s presence or an official explanation. The distinction matters: a reported premise should not be repeated as established game canon.
Why do people call it Resident Evil 9?
Resident Evil Requiem is Capcom’s official title for the ninth mainline series entry. Capcom announced its release for February 27, 2026, and subsequently described it as newly released. The title is a survival horror game built with RE ENGINE; Capcom listed PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as platforms in its June 2025 announcement. Capcom’s announcement

What has Capcom said about Requiem’s characters and story?
Capcom’s framing centers on Grace Ashcroft, a new protagonist, and Leon Kennedy, a returning character. Producer Masato Kumazawa connected the setting to characters’ ties to Raccoon City: “When creating a story set in the ruins of Raccoon City, we felt it was fitting to have a character with a personal connection to the city itself.” Kumazawa’s interview
Kumazawa also described the game as continuing the larger story rooted in Raccoon City and Umbrella’s secret machinations. Director Koshi Nakanishi said the game is designed to welcome newcomers who have not played the series. Neither interview, as represented in the official material here, confirms Jill’s appearance or discusses her aging.

Has Capcom explained why Jill still looks young?
No definitive explanation is established in the official material reviewed here. In particular, there is no verified primary-source statement tying Jill’s apparent age to an infection, slowed aging, or another biological cause. Those explanations should be treated as fan speculation, not Capcom-confirmed canon.
Capcom’s Jill Valentine retrospective provides franchise context, but the accessible material does not establish an aging explanation. Without a direct, verifiable source for the image or claim that prompted the headline, it is not possible to say whether Jill appears in Requiem or what would account for her appearance.

What is confirmed about how Requiem plays?
Director and producer interviews describe both first-person and third-person perspectives. Nakanishi said the game alternates tension and relief and may be scarier than Resident Evil Village; that description concerns tone, not Jill’s role. Nakanishi’s interview Kumazawa’s interview
