GTA Online’s mansion Security staff lower the chance that your owned businesses will be raided. Rockstar says raid risk can be eliminated only when you also buy the Security upgrade for the specific business. Rockstar has not published a percentage or formula for the reduction.
What mansion Security does
Rockstar’s GTAV Title Update 1.72 Notes say: “Additional Security staff can be purchased, reducing the chance of owned businesses being raided or eliminating the risk entirely if the respective business Security upgrade has also been purchased.” The effect described is on raids against businesses you own—not a general boost to every kind of security in GTA Online.
When raid risk can be eliminated
| Upgrades owned | What Rockstar says |
|---|---|
| Mansion Security staff only | Reduces the chance of owned businesses being raided; it does not guarantee that raids stop. |
| Mansion Security staff and the Security upgrade for the relevant business | Can eliminate the raid risk for that business. |
The condition is business-specific: the mansion staff must be paired with the Security upgrade for the respective business. The notes do not give a business-by-business breakdown or explain a probability formula.
How this differs from business Security
Business Security is a separate upgrade. Rockstar’s earlier Title Update 1.36 Notes describe it as reducing the risk of police raids and enemy attacks. Mansion Security, by contrast, is described in the 1.72 notes as reducing the chance of owned businesses being raided. Rockstar’s wording does not establish that mansion staff reduce enemy attacks or other security risks.

Does mansion location affect protection?
Rockstar’s announcement of A Safehouse in the Hills introduced three customizable mansion properties. The announcement does not say that one location provides stronger raid protection than another, so there is no official basis for choosing a mansion by security effectiveness.
How much does mansion Security reduce raid risk?
Rockstar has not published a percentage, a change to raid timers, or test results quantifying the reduction. Its notes establish the direction of the effect—lower raid chance—but not its size. Claims that the upgrade massively boosts security therefore go beyond what Rockstar has confirmed.
