Megabonk does not currently offer official multiplayer or co-op. Steam lists the game as single-player. Community-made mods provide unofficial options for playing together, but they have their own installation and version requirements.
Is Megabonk multiplayer?
No. Megabonk is presented as a single-player game on its Steam store page. The listing also includes leaderboards, but leaderboards do not mean that players can join the same game: the game is still labeled single-player.

Has the developer said multiplayer might be added?
Yes. In a Steam announcement, developer vedinad wrote: “I definitely wanna try to add multiplayer down the line, but that is a very time consuming task.” That expresses interest, not a confirmed plan or release date. The announcement places multiplayer among larger possibilities to consider after addressing common feedback.
Can you play Megabonk co-op with mods?
Community projects listed on Thunderstore add unofficial multiplayer functionality. They are separate from the base game and are not represented as official features on the Steam store page. Their compatibility, requirements, and capabilities can change, so check each project’s current listing before installing anything.

BonkCoop
BonkCoop’s listing describes online co-op for one to four players over Steam and labels the mod as beta. It specifies that everyone needs matching mod and game versions; the listing referenced Megabonk version 1.0.69, so that detail may no longer reflect the current release. Its described setup uses the game menu and Steam overlay.
The listing says the mod author tested two game instances and a short session between two Steam accounts; three- and four-player play were not tested in that listing. Those are the author’s reported tests, not a guarantee of performance.
