What the official sources actually confirm
PEAK’s current, publicly documented release is the Steam version. The Steam store listing gives the game’s release date as June 16, 2025 and describes a cooperative title available through Steam. Landfall’s official PEAK FAQ says the studio is working on console editions, but it does not provide a PS5 launch date.

- Will progress transfer between PS5 and Steam? The FAQ and Steam listing do not say. Cross-play should not be treated as evidence of cross-progression.
The wording matters because a planned platform feature can change before launch. No specific console release date, preorder date, or platform-store listing is supplied by these sources.

Is PEAK available on PS5?
Landfall still describes consoles as in development
Landfall’s FAQ states: We are currently working on bringing the game to consoles!
That is a development update, not a launch announcement. The same page does not identify a PS5 release date or say that a console build is available for download.
Consequently, someone who owns only a PS5 should not assume that buying the Steam edition, joining a PC friend’s lobby, or using a PlayStation account will provide access. The Steam page documents the existing PC release; it does not confirm a PlayStation version.
Why the date matters
Platform status can change after an FAQ is written. This article’s status check is based on the official pages reviewed on October 13, 2026. Before planning a purchase or a group session, check Landfall’s FAQ and any newer developer announcement for a concrete console launch notice. Until an official notice identifies a released PS5 build, “PEAK on PS5” should be understood as a planned edition rather than a currently documented one.

The developer says cross-platform play is planned
Landfall’s FAQ continues: PEAK is going to be cross-platform, meaning that anyone who picks up the game on console will be able to play with the existing Steam community, as well as any other console platforms.
This is the clearest official statement about compatibility. It describes the intended behavior of the console editions: a console player should be able to join people using Steam and people using other supported consoles.

Because the statement is written in the future tense while the FAQ describes console work as ongoing, it is not confirmation that cross-play is active now. It also does not specify whether every console edition will launch simultaneously, whether cross-play will be enabled on day one, or whether a particular account-linking procedure will be required.
What “cross-play” would mean here
Cross-play concerns multiplayer access across platforms. Under Landfall’s plan, a PS5 player and a Steam player would be able to participate in the same PEAK session once the relevant console edition and online service are available. That promise does not answer separate questions about shared saves, purchases, achievements, friends lists, voice features, or account identity.
How multiplayer works on the current Steam release
The Steam listing describes the available multiplayer as friends-only. A host can invite up to three other scouts through Steam, creating a four-player group. It also lists online co-op and offline single-player, so the game is not dependent on finding public matchmaking partners.

Starting a Steam session with friends
- Use the Steam release documented on the store page and make sure each participant owns or can access that PC version.
- Have one player act as the host and use the game’s Steam multiplayer flow.
- Invite Steam friends to the session. The listing permits up to three invited scouts in addition to the host.
- Keep the group within that four-player limit for the documented co-op format.
- If nobody wants an online session, select the game’s offline single-player option instead.
The sources do not publish a console menu path, a cross-platform invite code, or a PlayStation-specific setup guide. Those details should wait for an official console release announcement.

Can PS5 and PC players play together today?
There is no official basis in the reviewed material for saying that they can. The Steam page documents the PC version, while Landfall says the console editions are still being worked on. A PC player can therefore use the documented Steam friends-only multiplayer now, but a PS5 player cannot be added on the strength of the planned cross-platform statement alone.
Be especially cautious with videos, social posts, or store pages that present a console date without a corresponding announcement from the developer. A claim that PEAK is “cross-play” may be describing Landfall’s goal rather than an active service. The practical test is an official release notice for the console edition followed by explicit confirmation that cross-play has been enabled.

The feature remains unconfirmed
Neither the Landfall FAQ nor the Steam listing explains how progress would be stored across PC and console. They do not confirm that a player’s save, badges, cosmetics, unlocks, statistics, or other account data will be available on both PS5 and Steam.
That is an evidence gap, not a confirmed “no.” The developer could announce shared progression later, but the reviewed pages do not establish it. Until such a statement appears, assume that a new platform might have its own save or account requirements and that progress transfer is not guaranteed.

Why cross-play does not prove cross-save
Cross-play only describes who can join the same multiplayer session. A game can connect players from different platforms while storing each platform’s progression separately. Shared progression normally requires additional account, server, purchase, and save-management decisions; none of those decisions are described in the official PEAK material reviewed.
If your decision depends on carrying a campaign, cosmetic collection, badges, or statistics from Steam to PS5, wait for a developer statement that names cross-progression or cross-save specifically. A general promise that the game will be cross-platform is not enough.

When Landfall updates the game’s platform status, look for specific wording rather than relying on a broad “coming to consoles” description.

- Check whether the announcement says cross-play is enabled, not merely planned. The announcement should identify the platforms that can join the same session.
- Search the same official materials for “cross-progression,” “cross-save,” or a clear explanation of how saves and account progress move between platforms.
- Use the Steam listing to distinguish the existing PC release from later console information; its current multiplayer description remains friends-only Steam play with up to three invited scouts.
A release date answers when a platform is available. It does not automatically answer whether cross-play or cross-save is enabled, so those capabilities need their own confirmation.
Bottom line for PS5 players
As of the official information checked October 13, 2026, PEAK is documented as a Steam game, while Landfall’s console editions are still in development. Landfall plans to let console players play with the Steam community and other console platforms, so PS5 cross-play is a stated future goal. There is no confirmed PS5 play session today in the reviewed sources, and no confirmation that progress will transfer between PS5 and Steam.
