Yes. Steam has some games that originated on or are associated with the original PlayStation, including FINAL FANTASY VII (2013), FINAL FANTASY IX and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. But a Steam listing is not necessarily the original PS1 release: it may be a PC version, port or remaster. Check the individual store page to identify the edition being sold.
What does “PS1 game on Steam” mean?
It can mean a game that first appeared on the original PlayStation, or one associated with the PS1 era. That history does not tell you which version Steam sells. The available Steam release could be a PC version, a port or a remaster rather than the unmodified console build.

A Steam curator describes its index as a compilation of PS1 and PS2 games found on Steam, and a Steam Community group lists games it identifies as PS1 titles. Those user-maintained lists include FINAL FANTASY VII (2013), FINAL FANTASY IX and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee: the curator’s index and the community group. They are examples, not an official or exhaustive catalog.
How to check a specific game
- Search Steam using the game’s exact name.
- Open the relevant Steam store page and check that the listing is available in your region.
- Read the product description and edition details to see whether the release is a port, PC version or remaster.
- Check the publisher and the specific product listed before buying; a familiar title alone does not establish that it is the PS1 build.
Are PlayStation games on Steam all PS1 games?
No. PlayStation’s PC gaming support page provides guidance for eligible PlayStation games playable on PC and directs users to Steam store pages. It covers PlayStation PC games broadly, not specifically games from the PS1 era, so it is not a PS1 catalog.
