No official announcement has confirmed a Tales of the Abyss remaster. The idea comes from a November 2025 Tales anniversary visual that includes Luke, interpreted by Insider Gaming as a possible clue. Bandai Namco’s description refers to anniversary and remastered titles, but does not identify Abyss as an upcoming remaster.
What does the anniversary illustration actually show?
There are two anniversary artworks that are easy to conflate. In a May 7, 2025 interview, Bandai Namco Europe described a new illustration by character designer Kosuke Fujishima featuring Cress from Tales of Phantasia, Luke from Tales of the Abyss, and Sorey from Tales of Zestiria. The interview identifies the characters and the artist; it does not say the image announces a remaster.

The separate Ufotable key visual is the one behind the later speculation. Insider Gaming reported on a November 21, 2025 post from the Tales of Series account, which described the visual as featuring “Characters from titles celebrating their anniversaries in 2025–2026, along with characters from remastered titles.” Luke appears in this visual, even though Abyss had not been announced as a remaster.
Why do fans think it could point to an Abyss remaster?
Insider Gaming reads Luke’s inclusion alongside characters associated with anniversary or remastered games as a possible hint that The Abyss could be next. That is a press interpretation of the artwork, not a statement by Bandai Namco. The official description does not name Luke’s game as a remaster, identify an unannounced title, or promise that the visual previews future releases.

Fujishima’s May 2025 illustration adds no confirmation: Bandai Namco Europe’s interview presents it as anniversary artwork and includes Luke, but makes no link between the image and a remaster announcement. The two visuals should not be treated as a single announcement.

Bandai Namco’s Japanese page for Tales of Xillia Remastered lists an October 30, 2025 console release and an October 31 Steam release. That establishes another recent remaster in the series, but it does not make the visual evidence for an Abyss release any stronger: no official source cited here announces one.
