What is REANIMAL?
REANIMAL is a horror adventure from Tarsier Studios, the studio behind Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II. THQ Nordic’s Gamescom announcement describes a brother and sister trying to rescue their missing friends and escape the island they call home.

The siblings explore by boat and on foot, moving through a fragmented world and confronting what the publisher describes as a dark secret. The announcement frames the journey around survival and environmental exploration.
How can you play it?
The game supports solo play, local co-op, and online co-op, according to the announcement. In co-op, players share a directed camera; THQ Nordic said this approach was intended to heighten claustrophobia and tension.

Which platforms is REANIMAL on?
At the August 2024 reveal, the announced platforms were PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The worldwide launch announcement added Nintendo Switch 2 to the platform list. The game came out February 13, 2026.

The official REANIMAL site lists The Prisoner as the first of three planned DLCs. It introduces two characters, the Soldier and the Prisoner. The site also announced that the official soundtrack, with 33 original tracks composed by Christian Vasselbring, became available on digital platforms on July 21, 2026.

In THQ Nordic’s launch announcement, Tarsier Studios managing director Oliver Merlöv described the game as a reflection of the team’s identity and shared sensibility. That is the studio’s own characterization of the project, rather than an independent assessment of the game.
