The wireless Rematch works with the original Nintendo Switch. The wired Rematch works only with a docked Switch, because its cable plugs into the dock.
Which Rematch models work with the original Switch?
Turtle Beach sells wired and wireless Rematch controllers, and they connect differently. Check the model name on the controller or package before following setup advice.
| Model | Original Switch compatibility | Connection | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rematch Wireless | Yes. Nintendo lists the Invincible Mario Rematch Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED Model. Nintendo product listing | Wireless | Nintendo lists up to 40 hours per charge and up to 30 feet of wireless range; these are manufacturer-stated maximums, not independent test results. | Rematch Wired | Yes, when the console is used with its dock. Turtle Beach says the controller is compatible with Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED only when used with the dock. Turtle Beach support FAQ | Integrated cable plugs into the dock | Not compatible with Switch Lite, which has no dock. Turtle Beach support FAQ |
How the wired Rematch connects
Connect its integrated cable to the Nintendo Switch dock. Turtle Beach’s compatibility statement applies to a Switch or Switch OLED used with the dock; the controller is not a handheld connection option. Since Switch Lite has no dock, Turtle Beach says the wired Rematch cannot be used with it. Turtle Beach support FAQ
Features differ between the wired and wireless versions
Do not assume one Rematch model has the features of the other. Turtle Beach says the wired controller has no motion controls and no NFC. Nintendo’s listing for the wireless controller describes built-in motion controls and a rechargeable battery. Check the exact package or model listing if a particular feature matters.
