What “Titanfall 2 in VR” means
Titanfall 2 was not released as a native VR game. - Quest: The documented route is through a PC installation and PC VR runtime, not a standalone Quest copy. The README does not confirm a specific Quest model or connection method.
- Vive or Index: The README does not name these or any other headset as tested. Check the maintainer’s current release notes and support information before assuming compatibility.
- Another PC VR headset: The project allows a runtime of the player’s choice, but does not enumerate supported runtime-and-headset combinations. Treat compatibility as unconfirmed unless current project guidance says otherwise.
Older discussions about vorpX concern a separate driver-based approach, not confirmation of headset support for this dedicated campaign mod. A December 2017 Steam community reply described the original game as non-native VR and mentioned vorpX; it is historical advice, not the current setup recommendation: SteamVR community discussion: Titanfall 2 and HTC Vive? A separate vorpX forum discussion, last updated December 23, 2024, also concerns that alternative route and includes setup variation.
What you need before setup
- A PC installation of Titanfall 2. The project README identifies Steam, EA, and Xbox installations.
- A headset connected to the PC and its PC connection software.
- SteamVR or another PC VR runtime that is active and usable with your headset.
- The EA app installed and signed in. The project README says that if the app is missing, launch Titanfall 2 once so it can be installed.
- The community project’s installer, obtained from its GitHub project.
How to install and launch the VR campaign
- Install Titanfall 2 through Steam, EA, or Xbox, then make sure the EA app is installed and you are signed in.
- Get the current installer from the project’s GitHub page and follow its install or update flow for Titanfall 2 VR.
- Connect your headset to the PC and start its connection software.
- Start SteamVR or the PC VR runtime you intend to use.
- In the project installer, select Launch in VR. Launching Titanfall 2 normally does not use the modded VR launch flow.
These steps reflect the project’s published instructions; they are not a guarantee that every headset or runtime combination will work.

If the headset does not start a VR session
- Confirm that the headset is connected to the PC and its PC connection software is running.
- Check that the intended VR runtime is active before launching.
- Launch from the installer’s Launch in VR action rather than starting the game normally.
- If the session still fails, consult the project’s current release notes or support channel. A report from someone using another headset does not establish the cause or fix for your setup.
Where VR campaign saves are stored
The project says VR saves and settings are stored separately from the normal campaign under %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR. This is useful if you are looking for the VR profile rather than the standard campaign’s data.
