Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Vampire Crawlers is a single-player game. Steam labels it “Single-player,” while Nintendo’s 2026 listings for both Switch editions specify “Single system (1).” The official listings and FAQs reviewed do not document local co-op, online multiplayer, or cross-play.
It is available across PC, console and mobile platform families, but that availability should not be confused with playing together across platforms. Cross-save is a separate feature, and its current limits are narrower than many players expect.

At a glance
| Question | What is documented | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Is there co-op? | No co-op mode is listed. | There is no documented way for two people to control characters together, locally or online. |
| Is it multiplayer? | Steam lists “Single-player.” | The game is presented as a solo experience rather than a multiplayer title. |
| Can two people play on one console? | Nintendo lists “Single system (1)” for Switch and Switch 2. | One player is supported on a single system; an extra controller does not create a second-player mode. |
| Is there online multiplayer? | No online mode is documented. | There is no official matchmaking, invite or co-op feature described. |
| Is there cross-play? | No cross-platform play mode is documented. | Players on different platforms have no documented way to join the same game. |
| Is there cross-save? | Only limited device-family save sharing is described for mobile. | Save progression and multiplayer are separate systems. |
These are mode labels and feature statements, not an inference from the number of platforms on which the game is sold. A game can appear on Steam, Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS and Android while remaining entirely single-player.
What Steam and Nintendo list
Steam: “Single-player”
The Steam store’s feature label is “Single-player.” That is the clearest platform-level description of how the PC edition is intended to be played. It does not list local co-op, online co-op, shared-screen multiplayer or competitive multiplayer as supported features.

Switch and Switch 2: one player on one system
Nintendo’s 2026 listings for the Switch and Switch 2 editions each state “Single system (1).” The parenthetical one is the platform’s player-count field, not a recommendation about how many people can watch. It indicates one supported player on that system.
The two listings therefore align with Steam’s description: the console editions are solo games. Buying a second copy, pairing another Joy-Con or connecting a second controller does not add a mode that the store listing does not provide.
Does Vampire Crawlers have local co-op?
There is no documented local co-op. Local co-op would normally be identified by a two-player or multiplayer label, a shared-screen option, a second-player join prompt or a supported local-multiplayer control scheme. The official listings instead identify one player.

It says nothing about adding another player.
What about pass-the-controller play?
You can of course hand a controller to another person between runs or choices, but that is informal turn-taking, not a co-op feature. Only one person is controlling the game at a time, and the game does not maintain separate players, shared health, team progression or a second character.

Does it have online multiplayer or co-op?
No online multiplayer mode is documented in the official store descriptions and FAQs reviewed. There is no stated online lobby, invite flow, matchmaking queue, friend-session system or host-and-join procedure.
That distinction matters if you are deciding whether to buy the game for a regular co-op group. A remote friend cannot currently be added as a playable partner through an official online mode. Streaming your screen, using a voice call or watching someone play can make the experience social, but those are external activities rather than multiplayer functionality in the game.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →The mobile FAQ’s “infinite people” line
The mobile FAQ answers its co-op question with: “You can play with one to infinite people. One person plays, the others watch and critique your choices. :)” The wording is a joke about spectators. It does not announce a multiplayer mode, and it does not change the one-player labels on the platform stores.
Does Vampire Crawlers support cross-play?
Cross-play means players on different platforms join the same playable session—for example, a Steam player entering a game with someone on Xbox or Switch. The official pages reviewed do not document such a feature.
Because there is no documented multiplayer mode to connect, the practical answer is that cross-play is not supported in the documented modes. This wording is more precise than attributing a separate “cross-play is disabled” statement to poncle: the official evidence establishes a single-player game and does not describe a cross-platform session system.

Why the platform list does not imply cross-play
poncle’s FAQ names Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation. Its mobile FAQ gives iOS and Android a release date of October 12, 2026. Those are distribution platforms, not a shared multiplayer network. Each edition can offer the same solo game without sharing sessions, matchmaking or player accounts.

Cross-save is different from cross-play
Cross-save transfers your progression between devices. Cross-play lets two people play together. Vampire Crawlers’ save situation should therefore be evaluated independently from its multiplayer status.
Launch position
poncle’s release FAQ answered the launch cross-save question: “Not at launch, we’re looking into it on time for the mobile ports.” That answer concerned moving a player’s own progression, not joining another player.
Current mobile limits
The current mobile FAQ says saves can be shared between Android devices or between Apple devices. It also says that, at the mobile launch, saves could not be moved from PC or console to mobile. In other words, an Android-to-Android transfer and an Apple-to-Apple transfer are described, while a PC-to-mobile or console-to-mobile transfer is not available under that launch policy.
Planned poncle account
poncle describes a cross-platform poncle account as planned or in development, with the intended purpose of enabling cross-platform saves later. Until that account system and its rules are actually available, do not assume that owning multiple editions gives you a shared progression file.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Even a future cross-save system would not create co-op. It would let one player resume progress on another device; it would not let two accounts enter the same run.
Platforms, releases and what each one means
| Platform family | Officially identified availability | Player-mode evidence | Save note |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC | Steam; poncle lists Steam among the release platforms. | Steam labels the game “Single-player.” | No PC-to-mobile transfer at mobile launch was documented. |
| Nintendo | Switch and Switch 2. | Each Nintendo listing says “Single system (1)” in its 2026 listing. | No cross-play or cross-save feature is established by the listing. |
| Xbox | Named in poncle’s platform FAQ. | No multiplayer mode is documented in the reviewed official material. | No console-to-mobile transfer at mobile launch. |
| PlayStation | Named in poncle’s platform FAQ. | No multiplayer mode is documented in the reviewed official material. | No console-to-mobile transfer at mobile launch. |
| iOS and Android | Mobile FAQ gives October 12, 2026 as the release date. | The mobile FAQ’s co-op answer is a spectator joke, not a playable mode. | Sharing is described within Android devices or within Apple devices; cross-platform account support is planned. |
The Switch editions are identified by Nintendo as digital releases. That distribution detail does not alter their one-player designation.
What controller support actually gives you
poncle’s FAQ says, “Yes. Controller support is included.” On a supported device, that lets one person choose a controller-based setup. It does not add a second character, split the screen, create a team slot or connect two separate platforms.
- Useful for: a solo player who prefers a gamepad, especially on a television or handheld.
- Not evidence of: local co-op, online co-op, versus play or cross-play.
- Buying a second controller: cannot unlock a mode that the game’s official listings do not expose.
How to verify the mode after an update
Features can change after launch, so check the current official pages if you are reading this after a major update. Use the following checklist rather than relying on a retailer headline or a social-media clip.
- Open the game’s current Steam, Nintendo, Xbox or PlayStation store page and inspect the player-count and feature labels.
- Look for explicit terms such as “Local co-op,” “Online co-op,” “Multiplayer,” “Cross-platform multiplayer” or a stated player range. A controller icon alone is not enough.
- Read the latest poncle FAQ and patch notes for a named multiplayer mode, account requirement or invite system.
- For save transfers, read the save or account section separately. Confirm the direction of transfer—Android to Android, Apple to Apple, PC to mobile, or console to mobile—rather than treating “cloud save” as universal.
- Check the date on the information. The mobile launch and any later account rollout can change save behavior without changing the game’s single-player design.
Common misunderstandings
“It is on six platform families, so friends can play together.”
Multiple releases expand where one person can play. They do not establish a shared session. Platform availability and cross-play are separate product features.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.

“Cross-save means we can play the same run.”
Cross-save concerns one player’s progression moving between devices. It does not synchronize two players in real time.
“Two controllers must mean two players.”
Controller support describes an input method. The store mode labels still specify one player.
“The mobile FAQ says infinite people.”
That sentence describes one person playing while others watch and comment. It is humorous wording, not a playable spectator or multiplayer system.
Should you buy it for a co-op group?
If your deciding requirement is a shared game with a friend—on the same screen or over the internet—Vampire Crawlers is not documented as a fit. Choose it when the intended experience is a solo run and your interest is in playing that run on a supported platform.
If your concern is device flexibility, separate the decision into two questions: first, whether your chosen platform offers the single-player game; second, whether the available save-transfer path covers your devices. Android-to-Android and Apple-to-Apple mobile sharing are the specific mobile cases described, while PC-to-mobile and console-to-mobile transfers were not available at the mobile launch.
Bottom line
Vampire Crawlers is documented as single-player: Steam says “Single-player,” and Nintendo lists one player on a single system for both Switch editions. No local co-op, online multiplayer or cross-play mode is documented. Controller support is for solo play, and the mobile FAQ’s “one to infinite people” answer is a joke about watching. Limited mobile save sharing—and a planned cross-platform poncle account—concerns progression, not playing together.
