Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor the main Luffy-versus-Kaido story, begin with episode 1015, watch through 1035, resume at 1051, and continue through 1070. Then keep watching to episode 1076 for the concluding stretch and endpoint. If you mean Luffy’s first encounter with Kaido in Wano rather than the later Onigashima raid, watch episodes 914–915 instead.
Quick episode map
The phrase “Kaido fight” can describe two separate encounters in the Wano story. The first is a brief early confrontation; the second is the much larger raid battle that develops across several separated blocks of episodes.

| What you want to watch | Episodes | How to use the range |
|---|---|---|
| First Luffy–Kaido clash in Wano | 914–915 | Watch these for the early encounter, before the Onigashima raid begins. |
| Onigashima rooftop battle begins | 1015 | This is the key starting point for Luffy and the allied pirates reaching Kaido and Big Mom on the rooftop. |
| Main rooftop viewing block | 1015–1035 | Use this as the first sustained section of the raid battle. Episodes also advance other Wano plotlines. |
| Rooftop battle continuation | 1051–1070 | Resume here after the intervening Wano episodes. This block carries the later progression of the fight. |
| Concluding stretch | 1071–1076 | Continue through episode 1076 for the final Gear 5-era portion and the endpoint of the Luffy–Kaido conflict. |
These are practical watch-guide ranges, not a claim that every minute in every listed episode is a continuous duel. One Piece intercuts the battle with the wider Wano and Onigashima story, so a “fight-only” list would give a misleading picture of how the episodes are structured.

The first clash
Episodes 914–915 cover Luffy’s early encounter with Kaido in Wano. This is separate from the later rooftop raid. If you are watching the story in order, these episodes establish the first direct confrontation and explain why the eventual raid carries much greater narrative weight.

The rooftop raid
The battle most viewers mean when they search for “Luffy vs. Kaido” is the Onigashima rooftop conflict. It starts much later in the episode sequence, with episode 1015 serving as the practical entry point. By this stage, Luffy and allied pirates have reached the roof to face Kaido and Big Mom, as described in the Crunchyroll listing for that episode.
The final stretch
The late portion is not finished when the first rooftop block ends. The story resumes after a run of intervening Wano material and continues into the Gear 5-era episodes. Episode 1069 is explicitly titled “There is Only One Winner – Luffy vs. Kaido,” while episode 1076, “The World That Luffy Wants!”, is the endpoint to use when you want the concluding punch and the complete resolution of this conflict.
Where to start if you want the main fight
Start at episode 1015
Episode 1015 is the cleanest starting point for the main raid battle. Its synopsis places Luffy and the allied pirates on the rooftop against Kaido and Big Mom, so you do not need to begin hundreds of episodes earlier merely to reach the first major exchange of the raid.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →This recommendation is different from saying that Luffy and Kaido first meet in episode 1015. They have already clashed in Wano; the earlier meeting is the 914–915 encounter. Episode 1015 instead marks the beginning of the rooftop phase that most searchers have in mind.
Watch through episode 1035
The first recommended block runs from 1015 through 1035. Treat it as a coherent viewing section rather than as twenty-one episodes of uninterrupted Luffy-versus-Kaido footage. One Piece uses these episodes to move the raid forward while also following other fighters, locations and Wano plot threads.
If your goal is to understand the battle’s progression, watch the complete block. Skipping every scene that does not feature Luffy risks removing the setup, reactions and simultaneous developments that explain why the rooftop conflict changes from one episode to the next.

Why there is a gap after episode 1035
The recommended guide resumes at episode 1051 rather than continuing with every episode immediately after 1035. That gap does not mean the Kaido story has ended. It reflects the way the anime distributes the broader raid across multiple characters and subplots.
Episodes between the two fight-focused blocks belong to the larger Wano progression. They may be essential if you are following the whole arc, but they are not part of the compact rooftop range used for this guide. A viewer interested only in the central Luffy–Kaido trajectory can finish the first block, note the pause, and resume at 1051.
Resume at episode 1051
Episode 1051 is the practical restart point for the later continuation identified in the episode-range guide. From there, watch through episode 1070 to follow the fight’s renewed progression and its approach to the decisive endgame.
Do not interpret “resume at 1051” as a recommendation to ignore the intervening story if this is your first complete Wano watch. The shortcut is designed for a targeted Kaido rewatch. First-time viewers who want the arc’s full cause-and-effect should watch in normal episode order and use 1051 as a marker for the renewed battle phase.
The late battle and the endpoint
Episode 1069: the explicit Luffy–Kaido title
Episode 1069 is titled “There is Only One Winner – Luffy vs. Kaido.” That wording makes it an especially useful bookmark for viewers looking for the confrontation’s explicit late-stage focus. The official One Piece episode index lists a July 16, 2023 broadcast date for this episode.
Because 1069 sits inside the larger continuation, it should not be treated as the beginning of the entire fight. It is a late milestone within the sequence that starts at the rooftop and resumes in the 1051–1070 block.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

Episodes 1071–1076: continue instead of stopping at 1070
Stopping at episode 1070 leaves the final portion unfinished. Continue through episode 1076 for the concluding Gear 5 stretch. Episode 1076 is titled “The World That Luffy Wants!” in the Crunchyroll and official One Piece listings, and its description identifies the concluding punch. For a complete answer to “what episode does Luffy beat Kaido?”, use 1076 as the endpoint rather than 1069 or 1070.
The endpoint matters because episode numbers and title wording answer different questions. Episode 1069 tells you where the anime labels the contest directly as Luffy versus Kaido. Episode 1076 tells you where the story’s concluding action is placed in the published episode sequence.
Choose the right watch path
Path 1: first clash plus the full raid sequence
- Watch episodes 914–915 for the early Wano encounter.
- Watch episodes 1015–1035 for the opening rooftop block.
- Continue through the intervening Wano episodes if you want the entire raid in broadcast order.
- Give special attention to episodes 1051–1070 for the later Kaido progression.
- Finish with episodes 1071–1076.
This is the best route for viewers who want context as well as the headline fight. It preserves the distinction between the first clash and the later raid instead of treating them as one continuous event.
Path 2: the compact main-fight route
- Start at episode 1015.
- Watch through episode 1035.
- Skip ahead to episode 1051.
- Watch through episode 1076, including the late episodes after 1070.
This route follows the principal Luffy–Kaido blocks while accepting that some broader Wano material between them will be omitted. It is the most efficient option for a rewatch centered on the matchup.
Path 3: only the concluding stretch
If you have already seen the rooftop battle and only need the ending, begin at the late continuation around episode 1069 and watch through 1076. Episode 1069 supplies the clearly labeled “Luffy vs. Kaido” milestone, but the final endpoint remains episode 1076. This path assumes you already understand the earlier raid setup and the developments that lead into the finale.
Path 4: normal chronological viewing
For a first watch of Wano, follow your streaming service’s standard episode order rather than jumping between ranges. Use 914–915, 1015, 1035, 1051, 1069 and 1076 as navigation markers. This avoids losing information from the other simultaneous fights and lets the raid’s consequences make sense when the anime shifts away from the rooftop.

What to expect inside the listed episodes
They are story episodes, not a compilation
The ranges identify where the Kaido battle develops, but they do not function like a separately edited fight movie. Scenes involving other characters and locations are woven into the same episodes. That structure is why a range is more accurate than a short list of supposedly “fight-only” installments.
The first block establishes the rooftop phase
The 1015–1035 section is the opening sustained portion of the raid confrontation. It is the block to choose when you want the battle’s initial rooftop setup and progression, rather than only its conclusion.
The second block carries the later progression
The 1051–1070 section is the later continuation. It includes the episode whose title directly names Luffy and Kaido as the competing finalists, then leads into the episodes that complete the conflict.
The finale requires the episodes after 1070
The concluding Gear 5-era material extends beyond the 1051–1070 guide range. Watching through 1076 prevents an artificial stop before the endpoint named in the official listings.
How to find the episodes on a streaming service
- Open the One Piece series page on a licensed service available in your territory.
- Switch to the Wano-era episode list and use the episode number rather than relying only on translated title searches.
- Enter 1015 as the starting point for the rooftop battle, or 914 if you mean the first clash.
- Use the season or arc selector carefully: services sometimes group long anime arcs into seasons with different labels.
- Confirm the number displayed on the episode details page before playing, especially for episodes around 1069–1076.
Availability, season grouping, subtitles, dubs and release timing vary by territory and can change. A service may display a different season label while retaining the same episode number, so the number is the most reliable navigation key.
Common watch-guide mistakes
Starting at 914 and expecting the raid
Episodes 914–915 are the early clash, not the Onigashima rooftop battle. Choose them when you want the first encounter; choose 1015 when you want the later raid phase.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Stopping at 1035
Episode 1035 ends the first compact rooftop block, not the entire Luffy–Kaido story. The recommended continuation begins at 1051.
Stopping at 1069
The explicit “Luffy vs. Kaido” title makes 1069 memorable, but it is not the final endpoint. Continue through 1076 for the concluding punch and resolution.
Assuming every listed episode is only the duel
The ranges include other Wano storylines. If you want the battle in context, watch the full episodes; if you want a targeted rewatch, use the separated blocks while accepting that the surrounding plot will be abbreviated.

Using a title without checking the number
Translated titles can differ slightly between services. Episode numbers—especially 1015, 1069 and 1076—are safer search keys than a title alone.
A spoiler-aware way to use this guide
For minimal spoilers, search only for episode 1015 and stop reading episode descriptions until you reach the player. Continue in order through 1035, then use the episode number 1051 to resume. If you already know the broad outcome and want the final confrontation, the title of 1069 openly signals its matchup; the title and description of 1076 signal that it contains the conclusion.
Viewers watching with friends can also agree on a stopping point. Episode 1035 is a natural pause after the opening block, while episode 1070 is a late pause before the final episodes. Neither pause should be described as the end of the fight.
Episode-number checklist
- 914–915: first Wano clash.
- 1015: rooftop raid begins for the main Luffy–Kaido viewing path.
- 1015–1035: opening rooftop block.
- 1051–1070: later continuation.
- 1069: episode titled “There is Only One Winner – Luffy vs. Kaido.”
- 1071–1076: final Gear 5-era stretch after the continuation block.
- 1076: “The World That Luffy Wants!” and the endpoint of the conflict.
Bottom-line viewing recommendation
Use 914–915 only for the first clash. For the main fight, start at 1015, watch through 1035, resume at 1051, and continue through 1070. Do not stop there: watch through 1076 to reach the concluding episode. If you are watching Wano for the first time, keep the intervening episodes instead of skipping them; the range is a focused guide, not a replacement for the complete arc.
