What is Donkey Kong Bananza?
Donkey Kong Bananza is a 3D platforming game exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo announced it for release on July 17, 2025, and it has since launched. Its adventure follows Donkey Kong and Pauline through an underground world. DK smashes obstacles and enemies, while Pauline’s singing enables temporary Bananza transformations. Nintendo also describes local two-player co-op.

Updates and DLC
Nintendo Support lists version 3.2.0, released February 24, 2026, as the latest update on its reviewed support page. Nintendo’s note says it addressed several issues to improve gameplay; check the update information for the current version and notes.
The paid DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC is available through Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 and the Nintendo Store, according to Nintendo Support. It adds a modern take on DK’s home and Emerald Rush, a set of timed, repeatable challenges that grow more difficult.
