Malaysian police reportedly handcuffed three Dota 2 professionals at Xipto Esports’ Kuala Lumpur bootcamp on October 15, 2026, then asked Thai carry Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon to demonstrate that he was really a professional player. With officers watching, he played the hero Kez and finished the match with 32 kills. The players were released afterward, but authorities have not publicly confirmed why the bootcamp was entered.
What reportedly happened at Xipto Esports
The account came from 23savage and was repeated by esports news outlets. He said officers entered the Xipto Esports bootcamp after a training session in Kuala Lumpur, confiscated the players’ passports and phones, disconnected the internet, shut down the computers and questioned whether the occupants were genuine professional gamers.

During the questioning, one officer reportedly recognized Dota 2. The same officer also recognized Malaysian public figure Ms Puiyi in a photograph on 23savage’s Instagram. Police then removed 23savage’s handcuffs and watched him play a match to verify his identity as a professional gamer.

“They sat there watching me play Kez, and I finished the game with 32 kills,” 23savage wrote in a translated October 2026 post. CyberScore reported the fuller score as 32/3/10. The match was therefore presented not as a scheduled practice game, but as an improvised identity demonstration while officers remained at the bootcamp.
What happened to Fbz and Oli?
Fbz and Oli were named as the two teammates held with 23savage. The reports say police removed the remaining handcuffs and released all three players after the Dota 2 demonstration. Why did police raid the bootcamp?
The reason remains unresolved. CyberScore and other reports mentioned a rumor that authorities may have mistaken the bootcamp for a fraudulent call center. Bulk food orders were cited as a possible pattern behind that suspicion, but no police statement confirming the theory was identified in the coverage.

That distinction matters: the handcuffing, questioning and release were described by the player and esports outlets, while the alleged call-center explanation is unconfirmed context. Until Malaysian authorities issue an account, it is not possible to say whether the operation was a mistaken identity check, a response to a complaint or part of another investigation.
