Latest NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready driver for Windows
Driver releases change frequently, so treat version 610.74 as the release identified on 15 October 2026 rather than a permanent “latest” label. NVIDIA’s page recommends updating to the newest available driver version. If the page now shows a newer package, use that package’s release notes and compatibility list instead of forcing 610.74.

The 610.74 notes highlight support for DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations and list a fix for flickering that can occur in Tencent Meeting when Smooth Motion is enabled globally. Those are release-specific changes, not a guarantee that every game or GPU will gain performance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCheck your GPU and Windows version first
Downloading by brand name alone is risky. The installer must match the exact GeForce model, operating-system edition and system architecture.

| Choice | Best fit | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Game Ready | Players who want updates for new game releases and graphics features | NVIDIA’s Game Ready notes focus on newer titles and technologies such as DLSS, ray tracing, path tracing and NVIDIA Reflex. Version 610.74 specifically calls out DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations. |
| Studio | People whose priority is supported creative-production applications | Use the Studio branch when application stability and creator-workflow validation matter more than day-one game support. Check the current Studio release notes for your application and GPU. |
Installing Game Ready does not automatically increase frame rates on every system. Results depend on the game, GPU, CPU, settings, Windows build and the particular release notes. There is no universal FPS uplift published for 610.74.
Notebook owners: check the manufacturer first
NVIDIA states that Game Ready and Studio packages can install on supported notebook GPUs, but the notebook manufacturer (the OEM) supplies the certified driver for a specific laptop design. The OEM package may include power-management, display-switching, hotkey or panel-specific changes that a generic NVIDIA package does not contain.

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
- Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
- Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
- 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads
- Identify the exact laptop model from its service tag, model label or Settings > System > About.
- Open the support page for that model and look under Drivers or Downloads.
- Compare the OEM’s recommended graphics driver with NVIDIA’s release. If the laptop maker lists a tested package, use that package first, especially when the notebook uses hybrid graphics or has unusual display outputs.
- If you choose NVIDIA’s generic package, create a restore point and keep the OEM installer available so you can revert.
How to download and install the driver manually
1. Select the correct package
- Open NVIDIA’s official GeForce driver download page.
- Set Product Type to GeForce, choose the correct product series and exact product, select your Windows version, and choose the Game Ready Driver branch.
- Confirm that the results identify Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 as appropriate, and read the supported-products list before downloading.
- Open the release notes. Check the date, WHQL status, supported GPU and any game-specific fixes that matter to you.
- Click Download, then accept NVIDIA’s software license terms. NVIDIA says the download begins immediately after that action.
2. Prepare Windows
- Save work and close games, browsers using GPU acceleration, video editors and meeting software.
- Keep the PC connected to reliable power; do not interrupt a laptop installation on battery.
- Temporarily pause another driver-installation process, such as Windows Update, if it is actively installing a display driver. Do not disable security software permanently.
- If you are replacing a problematic driver, create a restore point through Control Panel > System > System Protection > Create.
3. Run the NVIDIA installer
- Open the downloaded installer. If Windows displays a User Account Control prompt, verify that the publisher is NVIDIA before choosing Yes.
- Allow the package to extract to its temporary folder and accept the license agreement.
- Choose Graphics Driver. The installer may also offer the NVIDIA App; it is optional, so clear that component if you only want the driver.
- For a normal update, select Express (Recommended).
- For a clean replacement, select Custom (Advanced), choose the components you need, and enable Perform a clean installation. This resets NVIDIA driver profiles and replaces the existing driver files; it does not erase personal documents or games.
- Let the display flash or go temporarily black during installation. Do not press the power button while the installer is working.
- Restart Windows when prompted, even if the installer does not insist. A restart loads the new display driver and services.
Verify that installation succeeded
- Right-click the desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel, then choose Help > System Information. Check the driver version.
- Alternatively, return to Device Manager > Display adapters > your NVIDIA GPU > Properties > Driver and verify the driver date and version.
- Launch a game or application that previously had a problem. Test at the same resolution and graphics settings you used before the update so the comparison is meaningful.
- Check that external monitors, sleep/wake, video playback and hardware-accelerated applications still work. A driver update can expose a separate cable, monitor or application issue.
If the installer fails or Windows shows a black screen
“This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware”
Recheck the exact model in Device Manager, the selected product series and whether you downloaded a 64-bit Windows package. On notebooks, switch to the OEM package if NVIDIA’s generic installer does not recognize the laptop GPU.
Installation stops, rolls back or reports a failed component
- Restart Windows and run the installer again with other applications closed.
- Use Custom (Advanced) > Perform a clean installation.
- Check that the system drive has enough free space for the 979.17 MB download plus temporary extraction files.
- Remove an incomplete installer download and obtain a fresh copy from NVIDIA’s official page.
- If Windows Update is installing a display driver at the same time, allow it to finish, restart, and then install the NVIDIA package.
Black screen after restart
- Wait several minutes first; the display driver can reinitialize monitors during the first boot.
- Press Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver. You may hear a beep and see the screen refresh.
- If the screen remains unusable, boot Windows Recovery Environment, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart, then select Safe Mode.
- In Safe Mode, use Device Manager > Display adapters > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver if that button is available. Otherwise uninstall the device, restart, and install the previously saved OEM or NVIDIA package.
Games stutter, crash or show visual glitches
- Restart after installation and confirm the game is using the NVIDIA GPU rather than integrated graphics.
- Reset an overclock or undervolt to stock settings while testing.
- Disable newly enabled graphics features one at a time, including global Smooth Motion, and compare with the previous driver.
- Use the game’s file-repair option and check its own patch notes; a driver update cannot correct every game-side problem.
- If the issue began immediately after 610.74, roll back through Device Manager or install the prior WHQL package listed by NVIDIA.
When should you update?
Update when a release supports a game you play, fixes a symptom you have, closes a compatibility gap, or is recommended by your notebook manufacturer. If your current driver is stable and the release notes do not address your hardware or software, waiting is reasonable. Before any update, record your current version and keep the installer for the working driver so recovery is straightforward.
