How to download the current full version of Raft

1. Open the official Raft page on Steam.
2. Use Steam’s purchase and installation options on the store page. You’ll need the Steam client and an account to install and launch the game through Steam.
3. After installation, find Raft in your Steam Library and launch it from there.

Raft is a survival adventure about collecting debris, expanding a raft, sailing to islands, and managing resources and dangers. Steam describes the game as: “Gather debris to survive, expand your raft and set sail towards forgotten and dangerous islands!” The listing supports single-player and online co-op.

Check whether your Windows PC meets the requirements

Steam lists the following requirements for Raft. Meeting the minimum specification is the baseline, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every system.

Important for older Windows versions: Steam’s listing says the game supports Windows 7 or later, but the Steam client supports Windows 10 and later beginning January 1, 2024. The game’s listed operating-system floor does not guarantee that the current Steam client will run on an older Windows installation. Check Steam’s client support before relying on a Windows 7 or 8 PC.

Are the itch.io downloads the full game?

No. Redbeet Interactive’s itch.io page provides older prototype builds and says, “All New Raft is now out on Steam!” The Windows prototype archives listed there are V1.05b_Raft_Win32.zip (116 MB) and V1.05b_Raft_Win64.zip (118 MB). They are not the current full Steam release.

The developer’s instructions for those prototype files say to extract the archive, keep the executable and Data folder together, run the executable, choose settings, and press Play. Those steps apply to the prototype archives only; install the current full game through Steam instead.
