To complete The Labs Below in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, enter the memory found while exploring the Crossroads, clear the lab’s Blight sacs, rotate the central pillar to open its connected rooms, then defeat the outdoor enemy waves. Collect the Mother of Halla Memento on the way through and take the Wolf Statuette at the end to complete the quest.
Start The Labs Below in the Crossroads
Explore the Crossroads until you discover the Labs; the quest starts automatically. Go through the veil and descend to Tarasahl. After listening to her story, pick up the object across from the door and use it to unlock the way forward.
Clear the first lab and find the Mother of Halla Memento
- Fight the Darkspawn and destroy the red Blight sacs in the room. The sacs spawn enemies, so clear them as you work through the encounter.
- Leave through the west-side doorway. At the bottom of the stairs, turn left and follow the tunnel to a small room containing the Mother of Halla Memento.
- Return to the stairs and continue upward to reach the next memory and the pillar room.
Solve the central pillar puzzle
The pillar opens connected rooms. Clear the Blight sac in its room first, then turn the pillar clockwise to open one accessible room. Enter it and destroy the sacs; this room also contains a chest. Return to the pillar room and rotate the pillar to open the other connected rooms, clearing the sacs in each before proceeding.
Once the rooms are cleared, follow the open route up the stairs.

Finish the encounters and claim the Wolf Statuette
- Move forward into the outdoor area and defeat the enemies.
- After the next memory, defeat the following wave.
- Destroy the red sac to trigger another memory.
- After the final memory, loot the chest and pick up the Wolf Statuette. Taking the statuette completes The Labs Below; use the stairs when you are ready to leave.
The Wolf Statuette is one of five items associated with the Regrets of the Dread Wolf questline.
Rewards and the Solas dialogue choice
Game8’s November 25, 2024 guide lists the quest rewards as 10 Etheric Remnant, a Watcher’s Robes Common Appearance, and 50+ Veil Jumpers Strength. It also reports that either response in the Solas and Tarasahl scene is acceptable, with no meaningful difference described by the guide. Treat that as the guide’s account, not a confirmed developer rule or evidence of a permanent story consequence.
