Dragon Ball Project Multi is now officially titled DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA. It launched in September 2025, according to a Bandai Namco corporate newsletter, after the publisher announced a free-to-play 4v4 team battle arena game for mobile, console and PC.
What happened to Dragon Ball Project Multi?
Project Multi was the project name for the game that Bandai Namco officially named DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA on June 5, 2025. The publisher introduced it as a battle arena game built around teams of four, rather than presenting “MOBA” as its official genre label. Calling it a MOBA is a shorthand for the team-based arena format, not the publisher’s formal description. Bandai Namco’s announcement gives the new title and format.
Ganbarion is the developer; Bandai Namco Entertainment is the publisher. Ganbarion’s June 10, 2025 announcement also identified the game as the follow-up to the Project Multi reveal.
When did Gekishin Squadra come out?
Bandai Namco’s June 2025 announcement listed the release as “2025 (Sched.),” so that date was a planned window, not a launch confirmation. A Bandai Namco Holdings corporate newsletter reports that service commenced on September 10, 2025. The newsletter PDF is the source for that date, but its current service status and availability in individual territories are not established here. Bandai Namco Holdings newsletter No. 81.

How did the Project Multi beta work?
The earlier open beta ran August 20 through September 3, 2024 UTC. Bandai Namco listed Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States as test regions. Germany and South Korea were limited to the App Store and Google Play, while Steam players had to request participation. These were beta-specific conditions and do not establish where the launched game is available today. The official beta announcement contains the historical region and access details.
What the announcement does—and does not—establish
The official launch announcement establishes the game’s name, four-player team format, announced platforms and free-to-play model. It does not establish current live-service status, territory-by-territory access, or a player count. For those details, consult current official game and storefront listings rather than relying on the 2025 announcement.
