Yes—but the answer now depends on your platform. A PC fan mod first unlocked more stages for local split-screen in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. Bandai Namco later announced official all-stage local multiplayer for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The publisher’s November 2025 notice says Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 split-screen is still limited to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Can you play split-screen on any map?
On PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, Bandai Namco announced an update that lets players use local multiplayer across all playable stages. On PC, the fan-made “Let’s Fight Somewhere Else!” (LFSE) mod also expands stage selection for split-screen; its current Nexus Mods page lists version 2.01. On Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, Bandai Namco’s November 7, 2025 notice says one-console split-screen is available only in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. That notice does not establish whether later Switch updates changed the restriction.

How the all-map split-screen story changed
The original restriction
Before launch, Bandai Namco said the game was designed around online multiplayer and offline single-player. The publisher explained that preserving environmental effects and destructible scenery in split-screen was difficult, so it initially confined local play to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. It also said the character-selection flow was designed for one player, preventing both local players from choosing characters simultaneously. At the time, Bandai Namco Europe stated: “After careful consideration, we have decided to implement the split-screen multiplayer mode exclusively within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber stage.” Gameplay showcase
The PC mod workaround
After launch, PC modders released LFSE, which made other stages selectable for split-screen. The current Nexus Mods page credits Sora101Ven and Narknon, identifies the release as version 2.01, and says all maps are available in the stage-selection menu and split-screen. That made the original headline true as a community-made PC workaround, not a feature available on every platform.

The official all-stage update
Bandai Namco later announced that local multiplayer was available across all playable stages on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Its announcement describes split-screen Vs. as one of the game’s multiplayer modes. The change means those players do not need LFSE simply to access other stages in local play.
How to use the LFSE mod on PC
LFSE is a PC mod, not a console download or a substitute for owning the game. Its current Nexus Mods page lists two requirements: SparkingZERO Mod Loader and UTOC Signature Bypass Patch. Follow the current mod page’s requirements and installation notes for the version you download; older guides may describe a different setup. The page outlines installation in the Steam game directory. LFSE on Nexus Mods

Be cautious with the optional Tournament of Power file
The mod page offers an optional “Tournament of Power (Clean)” file that must be added as a new MapData entry. Its authors say they are unsure whether that optional file affects matchmaking or online play, and recommend the main LFSE version for players who regularly play online. Treat that uncertainty as specific to the optional file; do not assume it applies to the main mod or to the official all-stage update.

Bandai Namco’s November 7, 2025 Switch notice says one-console split-screen is available only on the Hyperbolic Time Chamber stage for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It also says those releases include most free updates distributed to other versions through January 21, 2025, with later changes to be applied gradually. Because the notice is tied to that date, it should not be read as confirmation of every subsequent Switch update’s status.
