It requires 10 Faith and 10 Arcane, and you can obtain it from a spectral Banished Knight in Fringefolk Hero’s Grave in Limgrave.
What the Dragon Communion Seal does
The Dragon Communion Seal is a catalyst for casting incantations. Its reproduced item text describes it as a “Formless drakeblood seal with a dragon communion crest” that “Enhances Dragon Communion incantations.” It also says: “This seal scales incantations with one’s arcane attribute.” These are the in-game descriptions reproduced by the community-maintained Elden Ring Wiki item page.
The item page lists the seal at base as weighing 0, having no skill, and providing 106 Incant Scaling. Its listed requirements are 10 Faith and 10 Arcane, with D Faith and C Arcane scaling. Those are base-page figures, not a character-specific casting value or an upgraded-seal value.
Which incantations get the bonus?
The seal boosts Dragon Communion incantations by 15% when held in an active hand, according to the community-maintained Dragon Communion Incantations reference. Holding a Dragon Communion Seal in each active hand is listed as a 32.25% boost. The bonus concerns the spell school, not every incantation with a dragon in its name: the reference explicitly distinguishes Placidusax’s Ruin from Dragon Communion incantations.

Dragon Communion incantations cover different damage types and can include status effects. Check an individual spell’s school, requirements, and acquisition method rather than assuming it benefits from the seal because its name or appearance suggests a dragon.
Is it a good choice for an Arcane/Faith build?
It is designed to make Arcane relevant to incantation scaling, and its school bonus makes it especially suited to a loadout built around Dragon Communion incantations. How much you get from it depends on your attributes, the seal’s upgrade level, and whether your spells benefit from the school bonus.

- ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition
The item page gives community-reported +10 scaling examples of 336 at 45 Faith/45 Arcane, 333 at 60 Faith/30 Arcane, and 310 at 80 Faith/10 Arcane. These are reference-page examples, not a controlled comparison or a universal optimum; use them as context rather than a promise of your own character’s output.
If your loadout leans on weapon buffs or direct healing, the item page cautions that this seal can be a poor fit: those effects depend on the Faith portion of scaling. For a mixed loadout, weigh that limitation against the bonus to Dragon Communion incantations instead of choosing by Arcane scaling alone.

Where to find the Dragon Communion Seal
The seal is a drop from a spectral Banished Knight in Fringefolk Hero’s Grave, in Limgrave. The route below follows the community-maintained item page; the knight can be difficult for an early-game character, and the dungeon’s chariot is another hazard.
- Start at the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace and enter Fringefolk Hero’s Grave.
- Proceed down the first two ramps, then take the right-hand branch.
- Go up two more ramps to the small room at the end, where the spectral Banished Knight drops the seal.
What to keep in mind about the listed mechanics
The item and incantation references report patch-note entries for versions 1.04 and 1.12, but those entries alone do not establish whether a later game version changed the mechanics. The figures above are therefore attributed to community-maintained references, not presented as confirmation from official developer documentation of the latest version.
