What the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman does
The base talisman boosts physical damage negation. Eldenpedia lists its effect as 10% physical damage reduction in PvE and 2% in PvP, and its weight as 0.8. These are wiki-reported values, not independently tested figures; consult the Eldenpedia item page for its current listing.

Its in-game description reads: “Wrought iron talisman depicting an ancient dragon. Boosts physical damage negation. The ancient dragons, who ruled in the prehistoric era before the Erdtree, would protect their lord as a wall of living rock. And so it is that the shape of the dragon has become symbolic of all manner of protections.”
Where to find the base talisman
The base Dragoncrest Shield Talisman is on a corpse near Bestial Sanctum in northern Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. The route, as described by Eldenpedia, winds down from the cliffs around the sanctum and uses roots, branches, rooftops, and cliffside ring structures. The destination is on the third ring, northeast along it.

- Start at the front door of Bestial Sanctum and go southwest around the building to a cliff overlooking a large tree root.
- Drop onto the root and follow the descending route across branches toward a domed roof.
- Continue down to the cliffside ring structures. Make your way to the third ring and look northeast along it for the corpse holding the talisman.
Some of the drops can cause fall damage, and Giant Bats may force you to use healing flasks. The final jump to the third ring is particularly difficult on foot; Torrent’s double jump is recommended. This route summary follows the Eldenpedia location description.

Eldenpedia reports the following physical damage reduction values. Percentages are listed separately for PvE and PvP; they are community-wiki figures and may be affected by game updates.

The +2 is on a corpse in northern Crumbling Farum Azula, reached from Dragon Temple Altar via floating debris. The Greatshield version is in a chest in Elphael; Eldenpedia’s route starts at Drainage Channel and goes through a church roof and rafters. The three talismans are variants of the same family and cannot be equipped at the same time, so choose the strongest one you have access to rather than expecting their effects to stack.
