Capcom’s June 12, 2026 notice said the base game would remain available through Capcom Town Store after the Deluxe Edition sale ended there. It does not establish availability at other retailers.
What does the Dark Arisen expansion add?
A new story in Norgan
Capcom describes a story set in the long-abandoned region of Norgan, where the Arisen joins Eir to investigate the Fallen Dragon. The expansion is a paid addition to the March 2024 game, announced for October 9, 2026.

Lost Rites challenges and character options
The listed additions also include 12 Lost Rites dungeon challenges and new hairstyles and tattoos for the Arisen and Pawns. Capcom’s product description establishes those features, but does not establish the expansion’s story length, challenge difficulty, or performance.

Does the Deluxe Edition include Dark Arisen?
No. The former Deluxe Edition was the base game plus A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack, as described by Steam. Dark Arisen is a separate paid expansion, and its bundle with the base game is a different product. Do not treat a Deluxe Edition listing as an expansion bundle unless the seller explicitly lists Dark Arisen as included.

Which version is worth buying?
If you already own the base game
Compare the standalone expansion’s price in your platform’s local store. It is the relevant option for an owner interested in Norgan’s story and the Lost Rites challenges; the bundle also includes a base game you already own.
If you are new to the game
Compare the bundle price with the combined local prices of the base game and expansion. The US PlayStation listing confirms that the bundle contains both, but prices vary by platform and region, so a US price is not a reliable guide to another store.

If you mainly want the base game
Buy the base game by itself if you are not yet interested in the expansion’s story and challenges. You can decide whether to add the expansion later, subject to its availability and price in your region.
If you find an older Deluxe Edition listing
Check the seller and the exact included content before purchasing. It is not the Dark Arisen bundle, and Capcom’s ended sale notice refers only to Capcom Town Store—not every possible listing or platform.

On October 9, 2026, Capcom’s US store displayed $49.99 for the Dark Arisen bundle and $29.99 for the standalone expansion. These are dated US-store prices, not universal or guaranteed current prices. Check the product page for your platform and region, confirm whether the listing is a bundle or standalone expansion, and compare the final local prices before buying.

How to make the decision
- Check ownership: if you already own Dragon’s Dogma 2, start with the standalone expansion; otherwise, compare the bundle with separate purchases.
- Check the contents: confirm that the product explicitly says Dark Arisen Expansion or identifies the base-game-plus-expansion bundle. “Deluxe Edition” alone does not mean it includes the expansion.
- Check your platform and region: use the store where you intend to play, and compare its local price and availability rather than relying on the cited US prices.
- Match the content to your interests: the expansion’s stated draw is its Norgan story, 12 dungeon challenges, and character customization options. If those are not what you want, the base game alone may be the better fit.
Capcom reported 14 million cumulative sales for the Dragon’s Dogma series on June 10, 2026; that figure is for the series, not sales of Dragon’s Dogma 2 alone. Capcom announcement.
