Start with the performance-oriented graphics option
Open the game’s Graphics options and lower the graphics-quality setting. The Steam store listing associates Prioritize Performance with gameplay at 1080p using an upscaler, targeting 45–60 FPS. That is the store’s stated target, not a guarantee for every configuration or scene. Steam’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 listing is the source for that figure.

Use Prioritize Performance as a sensible starting point if higher frame rate matters more to you than maximum image detail. If performance remains poor, lower graphics quality further where the game allows it, then check whether the result is acceptable in the areas where you play. Capcom’s support FAQ specifically recommends lowering graphics settings when the game runs slowly or does not launch properly: Capcom’s Steam FAQ.
Choose the tradeoff that fits your PC
Frame rate versus image detail
Reducing graphics quality can improve performance, but it may also make the image look less detailed. The available official guidance supports lowering settings as a general troubleshooting measure; it does not establish an optimal value for individual options such as shadows, textures, mesh quality, or ambient occlusion. Treat any setting-by-setting recipe you encounter as hardware- and build-dependent unless it is backed by current, controlled testing.

Upscaled output versus native rendering
The Steam listing’s 1080p performance target explicitly uses an upscaler. Upscaling is therefore part of the context for that target, rather than evidence that native 1080p rendering will achieve the same frame rate. Compare the game’s appearance and smoothness on your own system when choosing between an upscaled performance option and a higher-detail approach.
Ray tracing on or off
Capcom’s Steam FAQ identifies an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 as necessary for ray-tracing features. This is a stated hardware threshold for ray tracing, not a recommendation to enable it when prioritizing FPS, nor a frame-rate benchmark. If your priority is performance, test with ray tracing disabled before considering it; the cited requirement does not show how much enabling the feature changes performance on any particular PC. What DLSS Frame Generation does—and what the source confirms
A Capcom update announcement dated May 30, 2024 added DLSS Frame Generation to the game’s Graphics options. The announcement confirms that the option was added, but does not quantify an FPS uplift or establish its current behavior across all supported hardware. Reset graphics settings if the game stops working properly
Capcom warns that settings above a PC’s capabilities can cause the game not to run properly. Its support FAQ describes restoring the default configuration by renaming config.ini and copying config_default.ini to restore the defaults. This is a recovery procedure, not an FPS tweak. Follow the current instructions in Capcom’s FAQ, which also covers the location and handling of the configuration files.
Set expectations against the official target
The published 45–60 FPS target applies to the Steam listing’s stated conditions: 1080p gameplay using an upscaler with Prioritize Performance selected. It should not be read as a guarantee for a specific GPU, CPU, or demanding scene. The available official information does not provide a tested universal preset for the latest PC build, or controlled comparisons of individual graphics settings. Make changes incrementally and judge them on your own hardware rather than treating any single configuration as best for all PCs.
