To complete The Guardian Gigantus in Dragon’s Dogma 2, finish A New Godsway, take the Empowered Godsbane Blade to the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door southeast of Bakbattahl, then follow the route toward Moonglint Tower. Gigantus rises from the sea along the way. Attack its glowing spikes to slow or defeat it, or keep moving while NPCs fight it. Before advancing, make an Inn Save: this sequence leads toward the ending and can limit your chance to finish side content.
What you need before starting
The Guardian Gigantus follows A New Godsway. During that quest, Ambrosius asks for 15 Wyrmslife Crystals and then gives you the Empowered Godsbane Blade. You need that blade to open the route to Moonglint Tower.

How to reach Gigantus
- Complete A New Godsway. Make sure you have received the Empowered Godsbane Blade from Ambrosius.
- Go to the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door southeast of Bakbattahl. Use the Godsbane Blade on the door to open the way.
- Continue along the route toward the cliff and Moonglint Tower. Gigantus rises from the ocean as you travel onward.
How to fight Gigantus
The glowing spikes protruding from Gigantus are its weak points. Destroying them slows the giant; if you break them quickly enough, you can defeat it before it reaches the tower. The best approach depends on your vocation and position:
- Ranged attacks: Fire at the glowing spikes from nearby terrain.
- Climbing and melee: Climb onto Gigantus and strike the weak points directly.
- Ballistas: Use the ballistas positioned along higher parts of the route to attack it.
Can you skip fighting it yourself?
Yes. You can continue toward Moonglint Tower and let NPCs engage Gigantus; the quest can progress without you personally defeating it. The guides report a reward trade-off: Dot Esports says you miss the rewards for defeating the giant if NPCs kill it, while PowerPyx lists 19,000 XP for fighting Gigantus. These are guide-reported reward details, not independently verified here.

Optional fast-defeat tactic
PowerPyx describes using an Unmaking Arrow to kill Gigantus quickly and says it costs 8 Wyrmslife Crystals at the Dragonforged. The arrow is optional; it is not required to complete the quest.
Make an Inn Save before advancing
Save at an inn before moving on toward the tower. PowerPyx warns that going to the first marker puts you on the ending path, and Dot Esports advises saving before entering the tower because the sequence can close off the opportunity to clear side content. If you still have optional quests or exploration to do, take care of them before proceeding.

Finish the quest at Moonglint Tower
After the Gigantus sequence, follow the quest marker to Moonglint Tower and continue through the tower toward Phaesus. Dot Esports reports that reaching the top floor completes this quest progression and starts Legacy. Check the in-game quest marker as you advance.
