Buy Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the platform you already own unless you have a clear reason to move to another one. A major performance update, Title Update 3.2, rolled out on September 2, 2026, and Capcom’s producer said the PS5 and Xbox Series X Performance Modes were tuned for a 60 FPS target. That is a target, not a guarantee of locked 60 FPS in every scene. PC offers more hardware and settings choices, but the revised post-update system requirements and a full current cross-platform performance comparison are not established here.
What changed with the 2026 performance update?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched in March 2024. Early technical reviews described performance and CPU-optimization problems, but those reports predate Title Update 3.2 and should be treated as launch-era context rather than a description of the current build. Digital Foundry’s March 22, 2024 review examined the original PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions.

Windows Central reported that Title Update 3.2 rolled out to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 2, 2026, bringing performance options and revised PC requirements. The report says Xbox Series X can reach a maximum of 60 FPS and Series S a maximum of 45 FPS with FSR upscaling. Its author briefly checked the Series X update, but that was not a controlled comparison across platforms. Read Windows Central’s update report.

The interview also said PC requirements would be revised. Read the reproduced developer interview at Changelog.gg.

How the three versions compare
| Version | What is established | What remains uncertain | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC | Title Update 3.2 brought performance changes and revised requirements, according to Windows Central’s September 2, 2026 report. | The revised minimum and recommended specifications, plus comparable current performance results, are not established here. | Players who already have a suitable gaming PC and value adjustable hardware and settings. |
| PS5 | Capcom’s producer described Performance Mode as tuned for a 60 FPS target. | Exact current resolution and frame-rate ranges by mode, and performance in specific scenes, are not established here. | Players who own a PS5 and want to play without buying or upgrading another system. |
| Xbox Series X | Capcom’s producer described Performance Mode as tuned for a 60 FPS target. Windows Central reported a maximum of 60 FPS with FSR after the update. | The reported maximum is not a complete benchmark; current resolution and scene-by-scene performance comparisons are not established here. | Players who already own a Series X and want to use their existing console. |
Which version should you buy?
Choose PC if you already have a suitable gaming computer
PC is the natural choice if your existing system can run the revised build and you want the option to adjust settings. Check the current PC requirements for the game before buying; do not rely on launch-era specification lists, and do not assume that a particular graphics card or processor is sufficient based on the information here.
Choose PS5 if it is the system you already own
PS5 has a stated 60 FPS Performance Mode target after the update. If you prefer console play and already have the system, there is no evidence here that switching platforms would deliver a reliably sharper image or more stable frame rate.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Choose Xbox Series X if it is the system you already own
Series X also has a stated 60 FPS Performance Mode target. Windows Central’s reported 60 FPS maximum with FSR is useful context, but it is not a matched test against PS5 or PC and does not prove that the game stays at that rate throughout.
What the available comparisons cannot tell you
There is not enough verified post-update information here to declare a universal performance winner or to rank current image quality. Exact PS5 and Series X resolutions and frame-rate ranges by mode are unverified, as are the current PC minimum and recommended specifications. A mode target or reported maximum should not be mistaken for a measured result across the whole game.

That distinction matters because older comparisons reflect the March 2024 launch build, while the 2026 update changed the performance picture. Use launch-era coverage to understand why older player reports may be more critical, not to decide how the updated game performs today.

Capcom describes Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen as a paid expansion for the existing game, scheduled for October 9, 2026. It is not automatically included with every base-game listing. Check whether the product is the base game, the expansion, or a bundle, and confirm the platform and included content on the specific retailer listing before paying. Capcom lists the expansion for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2; this comparison covers only PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Capcom’s June 10, 2026 announcement also reports more than 14 million cumulative units sold for the Dragon’s Dogma series as of March 31, 2026—that figure is for the series, not Dragon’s Dogma 2 alone.
