To complete The Nameless Village in Dragon’s Dogma 2, ask Captain Brant in Vernworth about the False Sovran, travel east to the village by way of the Eastern Forest, then speak with Flaude and find Srail beneath the manor. Bring Srail’s arrest warrant back to Brant to finish the investigation. Complete the quest before starting Feast of Deception, which PowerPyx lists as the point when it becomes unavailable.
Unlock the quest before Feast of Deception
After completing Seat of the Sovran and another objective from Captain Brant, speak with him in Vernworth and choose “Tell me of the false Sovran”. The exact order of Brant’s other objectives can vary with story progress; the walkthroughs do not establish one specific additional quest as mandatory. PowerPyx reports that The Nameless Village becomes unavailable once you reach Feast of Deception, so take this lead before advancing to that point.

PowerPyx’s quest walkthrough gives the prerequisite and cutoff; GameSpot’s guide describes the sequence after several Brant objectives.
Travel from Vernworth to the Nameless Village
- Leave Vernworth heading east and follow the road toward the village.
- After crossing the river, the direct route is blocked by a rockslide. Turn south through the Eastern Forest, then continue east to reconnect with the road.
- Follow the route uphill to the Nameless Village and the Old Noble Manor.
A Minotaur may appear along the forest detour. GameSpot describes fighting it as optional, so you can avoid engaging if your priority is reaching the village. The route and roadblock are covered by GameSpot and Windows Central’s walkthrough.

Question Flaude at the Old Noble Manor
Speak with Flaude at the hilltop manor and pursue the dialogue about the village and the False Sovran. PowerPyx specifically calls out the option “Ask about brass” and recommends selecting the available conversation options. Flaude claims to be the Thief Maister, but he is a misleading lead: continue into the depths to find Srail, the real Thief Maister.
You can find a Folded Letter in a house along the first path through the village, but the walkthroughs say it is not necessary to proceed directly from the manor to the underground section.

Cross the Nameless Village Depths
Look for the ladder beside or behind the manor, on the building’s left or northwest side. It leads into the Nameless Village Depths, where seesaw platforms and traps block the route to Srail.
- Raise and cross the seesaws: Move onto one end to tip a platform, then run or jump across the raised opposite side.
- Use rope bridges: Interact with bridges when you reach them to make the return route easier.
- Make jumping easier: If your Arisen is struggling to clear gaps, reduce carried weight. Windows Central also notes that a Sorcerer can use Levitate to bypass much of the platforming.

Find Srail and report back to Brant
At the end of the depths, speak with Srail and continue the conversation. He identifies Darragh as the False Sovran and gives you an arrest warrant. Return to Captain Brant in Vernworth and report what you learned to complete the quest. PowerPyx lists the completion rewards as 1,200 XP, 7,500 G, and Dragon’s Gaze.

The investigation and the Maister scrolls are related, but the scrolls are not listed as the quest’s completion rewards. The walkthroughs describe them as separate outcomes of speaking with the two characters:

- Srail: GameSpot and Windows Central identify his Pilferer’s Handbook scroll with Formless Feint, the actual ultimate Thief skill. Speak with Srail and pursue the relevant dialogue options.
The sources do not establish that the Arisen must currently be a Thief to finish the main quest.
