The Unmoored World is Dragon’s Dogma 2’s post-game route to the true ending. To finish it, recover your Main Pawn, start Halls of the First Dawn at the Seafloor Shrine, evacuate the settlements, and resolve the red-beacon encounters. Resting lets the red fog advance, so plan around travel and recovery rather than relying on a guaranteed day count: one 2024 guide reports 12 in-game days, but Capcom has not confirmed a universal countdown.

How to enter the Unmoored World—and what to do first
During the final Dragon sequence, use the Empowered Godsbane Blade on the Arisen to enter the Unmoored World. The region has altered terrain and enemy placements, stronger enemy variants, red fog, and no oxcarts. Gamer Guides describes this as the only route to the true ending in its Halls of the First Dawn walkthrough.
- Recover your Main Pawn. Complete Dreams Apart.
- Go to the Seafloor Shrine. Begin Halls of the First Dawn and speak with Rothais. The shrine becomes the hub for people evacuated from the settlements.
- Work through the evacuation quests and red beacons. Their order is flexible; choose a route that suits your readiness and travel plans.
- Leave the shrine’s final beacon alone until you are ready to end the sequence. Activating it triggers the conclusion.
Gamer Guides reports that dying returns the Arisen to the first day in the Unmoored World. Treat that as a reset, not a substitute for avoiding risk: the world’s danger and travel demands still make careful preparation useful.

Evacuation quests: where to go and who to find
There is no single required order for the settlement evacuations. The suggested sequence from Gamer Guides—Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, Excavation Site, Vernworth, then Sacred Arbor—is a safety and routing recommendation, not a fixed quest order. Dot Esports notes that evacuating Vernworth also evacuates Harve.

Two ways to persuade Taliesin to evacuate
For the restoration route, plant an Arborheart Cutting at the Seafloor Shrine, then return to Taliesin. This method may depend on having completed the earlier quests The Ailing Arborheart and Out of the Forest, Into the Forge. Alternatively, speak to Taliesin three times until he yields. Gamer Guides lists 20,000 XP, 25,000 G, and 30 Wyrmslife Crystals as rewards for Wandering Roots; those are guide-reported reward details, not figures stated in an official Capcom walkthrough. What the red beacons do
Red beacons mark Purgener encounters. Activate a beacon with the Godsbane to trigger its boss fight. Guides list encounters at Vernworth, Sacred Arbor, Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, and the Excavation Site. The Excavation Site encounter may appear later than the others, and guide accounts differ on optional and late-spawning encounters, so do not rely on a fixed boss count or spawn schedule.
The final red beacon is at the Seafloor Shrine. Activating it ends the Unmoored World sequence. Prima Games advises leaving it untouched while you continue other work or exploration; its further claim that fog progression stops after objectives are cleared is guide-reported, not a guaranteed mechanic. How much time do you have?
Resting advances the red-fog danger. Prima Games’ April 1, 2024 guide reports a limit of 12 in-game days, while Gamer Guides describes a hidden pseudo-time limit without establishing one universal duration. No official Capcom source cited here confirms an exact day count, so treat 12 days as a guide-reported figure rather than a dependable countdown for every run.
- Limit rests; use recovery items and other available ways to stay on the road when practical.
- Prioritize evacuations and beacon objectives over optional detours if the fog is closing in.
- Before committing to a long trip, check the map and account for the lack of oxcarts.
- Keep the final shrine beacon for last if you want to finish your remaining work before the ending.
Travel and preparation without oxcarts
Oxcarts are disabled in the Unmoored World. Gamer Guides reports that Ferrystones are more available through new chests and enemy or boss drops, and that Portcrystals and Ferrystones can help bridge long trips between settlements. Since the terrain and enemy placements have changed, plan routes against the current map rather than assuming familiar roads or travel options remain convenient.

Gamer Guides’ Halls of the First Dawn walkthrough covers the hub and overall progression. Capcom’s online manual is available, but it does not establish the quest steps, precise time limit, or beacon schedule described above.
