Dungeon Nightmares 1 + 2 Collection is a digital Nintendo Switch release containing Dungeon Nightmares 1 Remastered and Dungeon Nightmares 2: The Memory. Nintendo describes both as first-person psychological horror built around randomized dungeons, permadeath and finding an exit, with no combat listed as a feature. The official UK listing dates the release to 18 January 2021; Nintendo Australia also lists the digital version and reports Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility.
What’s included in the collection?
The collection bundles two games: Dungeon Nightmares 1 Remastered and Dungeon Nightmares 2: The Memory. Nintendo’s UK page categorizes the release as action, first-person shooter, adventure and arcade, while its descriptive copy calls it first-person psychological horror. Those store categories are not a claim that the game features conventional shooter combat; Nintendo specifically lists combat-less gameplay.

How does the horror-survival loop work?
Nintendo’s UK listing says the game is inspired by classic roguelikes and describes maps as “100% procedural-generated,” with permadeath. In practical terms, the advertised premise is that dungeon layouts are randomized between plays and a failed run does not preserve the character’s survival. Nintendo summarizes the objective this way: “The game is simple. Get through each dungeon by surviving the horrors that lurk deep within and making your way to the exit.”
The listing also highlights an intense atmosphere, 3D surround sound, unlockable extras and AI that changes based on player behavior each night. These are features as described by the publisher, not independently tested performance claims. Nintendo’s mention of surround sound makes headphones a reasonable optional way to listen, but the listing does not require them or endorse a particular model.

Is it available on Nintendo Switch, and what does it cost in storage?
Yes. Nintendo UK lists it as Nintendo Switch download software, and the Australia eShop listing identifies a digital Nintendo Switch version. Both regional listings report a 1.4 GB download. Nintendo Australia’s listing also reports compatibility with Nintendo Switch 2; this is a regional store detail, and Nintendo notes generally that software compatibility and experience can vary on Switch Lite.
The UK page gives a release date of 18 January 2021 and names K Monkey as publisher. Nintendo lists one player and handheld, tabletop and TV play modes. The UK listing specifies English and Japanese languages and a PEGI 16 rating; ratings and other metadata can vary by region, so check the Nintendo store page for your country for current details and availability.

Is there a physical cartridge?
The Nintendo UK and Australia pages reviewed describe digital software. They do not establish whether a physical cartridge is available through another region or retailer, so it would be inaccurate to conclude from these listings alone that no physical edition exists. If you specifically want a cartridge, verify the edition and seller before buying; a listing for the digital collection is not itself a cartridge offer.
