If you already own the game, you can still play the base game and DLC in offline single-player; online multiplayer is no longer available. The game launched on June 22, 2021, so the shutdown came about three years and eight months later—not quite three years.
Can you still play Dark Alliance after the servers shut down?
Yes, if you already own it. Wizards of the Coast’s notice, published by Xbox Wire, says the base game and all DLC remain playable in offline single-player for current owners. The notice does not say that online multiplayer remains available; the servers shut down on February 24, 2025.

Can you still buy Dark Alliance?
Digital sales ended on February 24, 2025, according to the Xbox Wire shutdown notice. That means people who did not buy it before the cutoff cannot purchase it through the stated digital sales channel.

Which platforms were supported?
Wizards of the Coast Support listed Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Windows 10 in an update dated January 7, 2022. This is a historical platform list, not confirmation that the game is currently available in any store. Hasbro’s launch announcement also described the console release as supporting both console generations.
Why did Dark Alliance close its servers?
The official shutdown notice gives the closure and delisting dates but does not explain the decision. It does not attribute the shutdown to licensing, costs, sales, player numbers, or game performance, so those should not be treated as established reasons.

How long was Dark Alliance available?
Hasbro announced a June 22, 2021 release date, and the Xbox Wire notice set February 24, 2025 as the shutdown and end-of-purchase date. The interval between those dates is about three years and eight months. The dates are documented in Xbox Wire’s notice and Hasbro’s launch announcement.
