Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen announced the end of his professional Counter-Strike playing career at the BLAST.tv Austin Major on June 22, 2025, shortly before the grand final. Tearful during the farewell, he said he wanted to end his career on the biggest stage and in front of the audience. The announcement was about retiring from competition—not leaving Counter-Strike entirely.
Why did dupreeh retire?
Dupreeh said the setting mattered: after a career that included five Major titles, he felt the right way to end his time as a professional player was on the biggest stage, in front of the crowd. Insider Gaming reproduced this line from his farewell speech: “Today, I stand with five titles, and I think that the only rightful way to do and say that this is the end of my career as a professional player is to do it on the biggest stage and to do it in front of all of you.”

When and where did he announce his retirement?
Rasmussen made the announcement at the BLAST.tv Austin Major on June 22, 2025, shortly before the grand final. Contemporary coverage described him as tearful during the on-stage farewell. HLTV’s retirement report covered the announcement and his career; Insider Gaming’s report described the speech and reproduced his words.

How many Major titles did dupreeh win?
HLTV described dupreeh as a five-time Major winner. His fifth title came with Vitality at the BLAST.tv Paris Major in 2023. HLTV’s retirement report also credited him with 32 tournament victories and traced the start of his professional career to 2012, when he played with 3DMAX’s Danish lineup. Those are HLTV’s reported career figures, rather than independently audited totals.
Was dupreeh leaving Counter-Strike completely?
No complete departure was announced. The announcement concerned his professional playing career, and dupreeh was working in a separate analyst role at the Austin Major. BLAST had listed him as an analyst in its May 30, 2025 talent announcement; HLTV also reported that he had moved to analyst work after his time with Falcons.

That role was still new to him in May. In an interview published May 4, dupreeh said: “It’s something that I’m very new at, but it’s also something that I’m trying to figure out if I enjoy enough to continue to do.” At that point, he had not decided whether to return to the server and was weighing what suited his life. His June announcement settled the question of professional play; it did not establish that he was leaving the Counter-Strike scene altogether. HLTV published the May interview, and BLAST published the interview with his comments on analyst work.
In a September 2025 interview, HLTV likewise framed the Austin announcement as retirement from competitive play and discussed his options after playing. That reporting supports distinguishing the end of his playing career from a total exit from Counter-Strike; it does not establish his current role beyond the reporting available here.
