If Dying Light 2 co-op is not working, first check that every player has reached the end of the Prologue, that your platforms support playing together, and that your systems show the same local date and time. Techland does not support cross-platform co-op between PC, PlayStation and Xbox; changing settings cannot make those platform families join the same session. The six checks below follow Techland’s co-op troubleshooting guidance and cross-play information.

1. Make sure co-op is unlocked for every player

Each player must finish the Prologue and reach the quest “Markers of Plague” before co-op becomes available. Techland says co-op stays unlocked for the rest of the game after that point. If a player has not reached it, continue that save through the Prologue before trying to join or invite again. Techland’s co-op guidance

2. Check whether your platforms can play together

Dying Light 2 does not support cross-platform co-op between PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Compare platform families before troubleshooting invites: a PC player cannot join a PlayStation or Xbox player, and PlayStation and Xbox players cannot join each other.

Players’ setups Co-op support stated by Techland
PC and PlayStation or Xbox Not supported across platforms. Techland
PlayStation and Xbox Not supported across platforms. Techland
Steam PC and Epic Games PC Supported. Techland
Xbox One and Xbox Series S or X Cross-generation play supported. Techland
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 Cross-generation play supported. Techland

For compatible setups, check the platform family first, then the PC launcher or console generation. Techland has said it will not make a concrete statement about cross-platform plans until it is sure it can deliver them; its current support page does not list PC-to-console co-op as available. 3. Match the local date and time on every system

Compare the date and local time on each player’s PC or console. Correct any differences, then try co-op again. Techland lists matching system clocks as a connection check; it is troubleshooting advice, not a guarantee that every join failure will be fixed. Techland’s co-op guidance

4. Note where the join attempt happens and both players’ quests

If a compatible player still cannot join, record the map location and the active quest for both the host and the player trying to join. Techland requests this context when players report co-op connection problems. Techland’s co-op guidance

5. Record your connection details and in-game friends-list size

Write down the internet connection information for the players involved and the number of friends shown in the game’s online menu. Techland also suggests that PC players run an online speed test, but its guidance does not give a minimum speed requirement. Techland’s co-op guidance

6. Document the failure if a session disconnects

If co-op starts but drops unexpectedly, note how long the session lasted, where the disconnect happened, what the players were doing, and how many people were in the session. Include whether the group was free-roaming or working on a quest. These details help describe the problem to support; Techland does not promise a particular fix for any single cause. Where to take an unresolved co-op problem

Send Techland Support the relevant details from the checks above. Its co-op issues article asks players with persistent problems to report connection and session context. Techland’s Dying Light 2 knowledge base also lists co-op issues among its current hot issues.

Do not assume that router or NAT advice for the original Dying Light applies here: Techland’s separate legacy-game multiplayer article concerns the first game, not Dying Light 2.
