What the event demo footage shows
Notebookcheck describes a Seven Star Sword Formation level and combat built around quick attacks, weapon changes, and defensive timing. The reported demo includes light and heavy attacks, parrying, an EX gauge, and weapons called Soft Snake and White Serpent & Crimson Viper. These are details from the 2025 event demo; the video does not establish that every element will appear unchanged in the final release.

How the footage fits the current release date
The 2025 reporting discussed an expected 2025 release, but that expectation has been superseded. PlayStation Blog announced on June 2, 2026, that Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on PS5 on October 29, 2026. PlayStation notes that release dates can vary by region and are subject to change. What the hour does—and does not—tell you
A long event playthrough offers a more sustained look at combat than a short trailer: viewers can observe how the demo chains attacks, weapon swaps, and parries in the shown level. But it is still footage from a particular event build. It cannot, by itself, establish final-game performance, the complete campaign, or the content and balance of the launch version.
Notebookcheck also relayed S-Game’s claim that the campaign would last 30–40 hours and that multiplayer endgame content would include boss rushes and roguelike dungeons. That is a developer claim reported secondhand in 2025, not an independently measured playtime or confirmation of what will ship. Read it as a description of the plan reported at the time, rather than a verified promise about the final game.
