What Hotfix 1.2.1 was meant to fix
In its 22 September 2025 announcement, Techland said Hotfix 1.2.1 addresses two named issues: “Indoor Rain” and the “Disturbed Day/Night Cycle.” That establishes the studio’s stated scope for the hotfix; it is not a guarantee that either issue is absent from every later game build.
When the hotfix arrived on PC and consoles
At the time of the announcement, Techland said Hotfix 1.2.1 had dropped on PC and would appear on consoles soon. The post does not name the console platforms or specify when the console rollout would happen, so it does not support a precise console release date.
Is Hotfix 1.2.1 the latest update?
No. Techland’s official patch-notes listing includes later update entries, including entries from 2026. Hotfix 1.2.1 is therefore a historical fix announcement, not a report on the game’s current version. The listing and the original notice do not establish whether Indoor Rain or the day/night-cycle problem returned in later builds.

What the announcement said about the APEX Car Skin
The original notice said that once the hotfix was live on all platforms, the APEX Car Skin would appear in the in-game stash for players who pre-ordered the game or owned it through the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition. That was the reward condition described in September 2025, not confirmation of a current offer or entitlement.
