New Game+ lets you replay Kyle’s story with your gear, weapons, and character progression intact, while enemies become more difficult.
What the roadmap said—and when
Techland published “Roadmap: What’s Coming” on October 16, 2025. It outlined an 11-week slate for the remainder of 2025, focused on replayability and endgame content. New Game+ was one item on that plan, alongside Legend Levels, Nightmare Difficulty, new weapon executions, visual and quality-of-life improvements, PC ray tracing, a PUBG Mobile collaboration, and other surprises.
That was a forecast for the final weeks of 2025—not a new announcement that New Game+ would arrive sometime in 2026. Techland’s current FAQ says the enhanced version became available on March 26, 2026 and includes New Game+.
What carries over in New Game+?
Techland Support says you can replay Kyle’s story while keeping your gear, weapons, and character progression from your first playthrough. Enemies are more difficult in the new run. The support description does not specify additional carry-over details, so do not assume that every item, world state, or quest outcome is retained.

How New Game+ differs from Restored Land
New Game+ is a replay of the story with your established character and equipment, balanced by tougher enemies. Restored Land is a separate, free survival-focused update for existing owners and is included with current editions. Its rules emphasize lasting consequences and scarce supplies: defeated infected and collected items do not respawn, and some activities can only be completed once. Players can also opt into a One Life rule.
Choose New Game+ if you want to revisit Kyle’s story with progression retained. Restored Land changes the survival conditions and makes resource management and irreversible choices central to the experience; it is not simply another name for New Game+ or a standard difficulty setting.
Current game and edition context
The FAQ lists Dying Light: The Beast for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. It gives the original launch date as September 18, 2025, describes solo and co-op play with shared progression, and presents the game as offering 40+ hours of survival-adventure gameplay. That duration is Techland’s description, not an independently measured playtime estimate.
Techland lists the base edition, Deluxe Edition, and RL Definitive Edition. The Definitive Edition includes the Deluxe contents plus the Action Hero Essentials, Hunter Essentials, Fire Lotus Pack, and Discharge Pack.

PS5 physical edition: a separate 2026 announcement
On September 18, 2026, Techland announced a physical PS5 release in partnership with Super Rare Games. The announced Retail, Super Rare Games, and Anniversary editions each include the Definitive Edition. The Retail Version comes with a game manual; the Super Rare Games Edition adds a sticker, metallic slipcover, and numbered release.
Techland scheduled pre-orders from September 18 through October 16, 2026, but delivery is not supported in some countries. The announcement points to Super Rare Games; it does not establish Amazon stock or pricing. Check the official announcement and your region’s availability before ordering.

What else followed the roadmap?
The later additions show why the roadmap should be read as a dated plan rather than a current schedule. In March 2026, Xbox Wire reported that the game added 36 new quest encounters that appear randomly along quest paths. Techland Lead Level Designer Piotr Pawlaczyk described their environmental storytelling: “Each one is a small, self-contained story that players can understand by observing the environment, the scene that unfolds in front of them and also by discovering additional notes on the spot.”
