Dynasty puts you in charge of a program as a coach, with recruiting, contracts, roster building, and seasons of job decisions. Road to Glory follows one created athlete balancing college life and on-field choices. Choose Dynasty for building a team over time; choose Road to Glory for a player-centered story.

Is Dynasty Mode deeper in College Football 25?
Dynasty has more documented layers of program management: the coach’s job, recruiting, school identity, conference setup, and a multi-season career all connect. EA says a Dynasty save can run for up to 30 seasons, online or offline, and can include up to 32 users, with one user per school. Its depth is about managing a program over time, not controlling a single athlete’s personal story. EA’s Dynasty Deep Dive
Choose a coaching job and manage expectations
At setup, choose a head coach, offensive coordinator, or defensive coordinator. Each role takes part in recruiting, and EA says you can play both sides of the ball regardless of the role. Contracts set expectations that may include a win target, conference championship, College Football Playoff berth, or national title. Performance relative to expectations affects job security and the possibility of being fired; Dynasty settings let you disable user-coach firing.

A coaching career can also mean changing schools. The coaching carousel runs across five weeks, from conference championship week through bowl season. Schools assess candidates using factors such as coach level, scheme, archetype, recruiting pipeline, and coach prestige. In online leagues, EA describes the carousel as asynchronous, so one user can weigh offers without holding up the rest of the league.
Recruit through discovery, pitch, and close
EA describes recruiting as three stages. First, identify prospects and learn what matters to them. Once a prospect has a top five, pitch your program against those priorities. The close stage includes official visits: a recruit must have your school in their top five and have received a scholarship offer to schedule one. A successful visit can lead to a verbal commitment; final decisions arrive on National Signing Day.

Recruiting is built around how a prospect fits a school. EA says each school receives grades from D- to A+ in 14 “My School” categories. These include playing time, playing style, championship contention, tradition, campus lifestyle, stadium atmosphere, pro potential, brand exposure, academics, coach prestige and stability, athletic facilities, and proximity to home. Team Prestige combines school grades into a 0-to-5-star scale.
EA says the game generates more than 3,500 recruits each season, and each prospect has three motivations that form an “Ideal Pitch.” A dealbreaker may be one of those motivations: if the program does not satisfy it, the prospect will not talk to the school. For a player already on the roster, an unmet dealbreaker may lead to a transfer-portal entry after the season. These are the game’s recruiting and roster systems, not a description of real-world recruiting rules.

Shape the program and play through a long save
Conference customization is available at setup or in the offseason. You can change membership and rules, including divisions, conference-game counts, championship games, and championship locations. EA says conferences can range from four to 20 schools; in Online Dynasty, only the commissioner can make these changes.
The schedule generator accounts for rivalries and known future nonconference games before completing 12-game schedules across the 30-year Dynasty span. EA’s launch-era Dynasty description also specifies the game’s 12-team Playoff as a 5+7 format: five highest-ranked conference champions receive automatic places, seven more teams are selected by ranking, and the four highest-ranked conference champions receive first-round byes. The game includes 34 bowl games with real-world tie-ins. Those are the game’s launch-era rules; they should not be assumed to match the real College Football Playoff format in a later season.

What do you do in Road to Glory?
Road to Glory is the athlete-centered path. EA’s launch announcement frames it around balancing student-athlete life and pursuing the Heisman. Its College Football 25 mode overview describes weekly decisions across practice, studying, social activities, and play, with multiple storylines and pathways. That makes the central loop a contrast to Dynasty: instead of directing a school’s recruiting and season plans, you make choices within one player’s college experience.
The available College Football 25 overview gives a broad picture rather than a full mechanical breakdown. It does not establish details such as particular currencies, energy costs, recruiting steps, or position-by-position progression, so those should not be treated as confirmed features here. How Wear & Tear connects both modes
Both modes use the same gameplay-management layer for player damage. EA describes Wear & Tear as a play-to-play and game-to-game system: hits can affect attributes associated with the injured body part, increase injury chance or severity, and require recovery during inactive time and between weeks. EA’s example is an overworked quarterback who may not be fully effective the following week in either Dynasty or Road to Glory. Which mode should you start with?
- Pick Dynasty if you want to recruit prospects, manage a school’s expectations, shape its roster and conference context, and pursue a coaching career over many seasons.
- Pick Road to Glory if you want your decisions to center on one athlete’s student and football life, with weekly time-management choices and on-field moments.
