For an immediate upgrade in EA SPORTS FC 24 Manager Career, Thibaut Courtois tops a 2023 list of the game’s highest-rated men’s goalkeepers at 90 overall. Marc-André ter Stegen and Alisson follow at 89. If you are building for the future instead, younger choices such as Guillaume Restes, Bart Verbruggen and Maarten Vandevoordt trade some current ability for potential growth. These are FC 24-era game ratings—not live assessments of real-world form or guaranteed values in every save.
How to use these FC 24 goalkeeper ratings
The ratings below come from a Charlie Intel ranking updated September 28, 2023. Treat them as a shortlist, not a promise that a player will be affordable, interested in joining, or available at the same rating in your save. Your squad data matters: EA says downloading squad updates provides the latest transfers and player ratings. Check the update state for your save before making a decision. EA’s Career Mode guide also distinguishes Manager Career, in which you build a team and pursue club objectives, from Player Career.

The figures are overall ratings from the FC 24 game database, not measured goalkeeper performances. Charlie Intel’s list focuses on men’s players. FIFA Index’s FC 24 goalkeeper ranking independently agrees on the first five listed here, but its scope differs: it includes Christiane Endler at 88 and does not use Szczęsny to fill out a men’s top ten. FIFA Index’s goalkeeper ranking is a separate list, not the same ranking or necessarily the same database snapshot.

Who to target for a ready-made starter
Courtois is the clear choice by overall rating in this list, with ter Stegen and Alisson one point behind. Ederson and Oblak are the next tier at 88. These ratings help identify high-rated targets, but the cited list does not report transfer fees or establish that any player will accept a move to your club. Check your in-save negotiation options and budget before committing.
How to choose among the 87-rated group
Maignan, Kobel, Donnarumma and Neuer share an 87 overall in the cited ranking. The rating alone does not distinguish their suitability for your club. Use your save’s player information and squad needs to choose between them; the source list does not provide a comparative breakdown of attributes, fees or availability.

Best balance of potential and current ability
Restes has the highest potential in this table at 87, paired with a 70 overall. Verbruggen and Vandevoordt are both listed at 75 overall and 85 potential, so they begin closer to first-team use while retaining development headroom. Chevalier is the most developed option in the group at 78 overall, with 84 potential and the highest listed value at €18.5m.
Lower listed value and wage options
Gomes and Seimen have the lowest listed wages at €500 each, while their listed values are €1.4m and €925k respectively. Desplanches is listed at €2.5m value and €1.1k wage. A different current FC 24 wonderkid ranking
FIFA Index’s currently displayed FC 24 goalkeeper wonderkid table labels its cohort as ages 16–21 and ranks players by potential growth. It lists Khiara Keating first at 73 overall with +18 growth, Guillaume Restes second at 75 with +12, Andrea Tarazona third at 77 with +8, Dennis Seimen fourth at 61 with +23, and Jonas Urbig fifth at 71 with +13. These entries differ from FourFourTwo’s historical table; the rankings should not be merged as though they came from an identical snapshot. View FIFA Index’s wonderkid goalkeeper list.
Quick Recap
How to decide which goalkeeper to sign
- Set the job first. If you need an immediate starting goalkeeper, begin with the high-overall shortlist. If you can develop a prospect over time, compare the wonderkid options.
- Check the squad data in your save. EA recommends downloading squad updates for the latest transfers and player ratings; confirm which update state your career uses before relying on a club or rating.
- Compare current overall with potential. A higher potential figure does not make a player an immediate upgrade. Restes is listed at 70 overall and 87 potential, while Verbruggen is 75 overall and 85 potential in FourFourTwo’s table.
- Fit the total commitment to your club. Compare the historical listed value and wage with your budget, then use the game’s actual transfer and contract negotiations to determine whether the signing is viable.
- Confirm availability and role. The cited rankings do not say who will agree to join, whether a transfer can be completed in your save, or whether a player is suited to a particular tactical setup.
