This shortlist covers both: Haaland is the elite benchmark, while Højlund, Tel, Ferguson, Moukoko and others offer different mixes of potential, pace, finishing and flexibility. It is a practical set of options, not an official EA ranking; check each player’s position and role in your save before making an offer.
How to choose a striker for your Career Mode save
Compare a target on five points before spending: your transfer budget, the player’s current ability, potential, tactical fit and save-specific availability. A high potential is most useful in a longer career; a club that needs goals immediately should weigh current ability and the attributes it needs more heavily.

- Budget and bargaining: published values and suggested fees are estimates, not guaranteed transfer prices.
- Current ability: overall rating and core attributes help indicate whether a player can start now.
- Development ceiling: potential matters most if you can give a prospect time and minutes.
- Playing style: consider pace, finishing, strength, aerial ability, weak foot and skill moves alongside your tactics.
- Save context: transfer strictness, roster updates, player willingness and competition can affect availability. Squawka notes that values and release clauses can vary by save, and availability can depend on transfer strictness (Squawka’s FC 24 young-striker guide).
The ratings below are in-game ratings and potentials reported by the cited guides, not real-world performance statistics. Guides can reflect different databases or roster versions, so figures are attributed rather than treated as a single definitive set.
10 strikers and forwards to consider
1. Erling Haaland — elite ceiling
Haaland is the premium benchmark if your club can afford a major signing and needs a top-end forward. EA’s Manager Career list gives him 94 OVR potential; Charlie INTEL and Outsider Gaming report him at 91 OVR with 94 potential. Those are game ratings, not a guarantee of what he will cost or whether he will join your club. (EA; Charlie INTEL; Outsider Gaming)

- Frostbite Engine provides realistic player models with anatomically precise movements and ultra-smooth animations
- Signature broadcast overlays give every match a fresh new look
2. Rasmus Højlund — premium development pick
Højlund combines a high reported ceiling with a lower reported value than the superstar benchmark, making him a development-forward choice for a club that can invest in a young first-team striker. EA lists 89 OVR potential. Squawka reports 78 OVR and 89 potential, while Charlie INTEL reports 76 OVR and 89 potential, so treat the current rating as guide-dependent. (EA; Squawka; Charlie INTEL)
3. Mathys Tel — pace and development
Tel suits a side looking for a young, mobile forward to grow into a larger role. Squawka highlights pace, shooting and dribbling, as well as four-star skill moves and weak foot. Published ratings differ: Charlie INTEL gives him 71 OVR and 86 potential; Squawka gives 74 OVR and 88 potential. The discrepancy is a reason to check the roster version in your save rather than assume one number applies universally. (Charlie INTEL; Squawka)

4. Evan Ferguson — finishing and aerial threat
Ferguson is a strong option if you want a younger striker with a more physical, finishing-led profile. Both Charlie INTEL and Squawka report him at 74 OVR and 86 potential; Squawka also highlights his finishing and aerial attributes. (Charlie INTEL; Squawka)
5. Youssoufa Moukoko — lower-cost prospect
Moukoko is a development option for clubs that want a young attacker without starting at the very top of the market. Charlie INTEL reports 77 OVR and 87 potential; Squawka describes him as an under-£20m option in its guide and highlights pace and finishing. That price description is guide context, not a guaranteed fee in your save. (Charlie INTEL; Squawka)

6. Elye Wahi — pace option
Wahi fits a team that wants to threaten space with pace and finishing. Charlie INTEL lists him at 78 OVR and 88 potential; Squawka lists 78 OVR and 84 potential. Because the potential figures disagree, do not treat either as a universal rating across every roster version. (Charlie INTEL; Squawka)
7. Dušan Vlahović — established finishing profile
Vlahović offers a more established, finishing-led option than the youngest prospects on this list. Charlie INTEL and Outsider Gaming report 83 OVR and 88 potential; Outsider Gaming highlights finishing, positioning and shot power. (Charlie INTEL; Outsider Gaming)

8. João Félix — flexible technical forward
Félix is worth considering if you want a technical attacker who can offer options beyond a conventional number nine. The cited guides include him as a centre-forward or attacking option, but his position and best role can depend on the squad setup in your save; verify them in-game before planning around him as a striker. (Charlie INTEL; Outsider Gaming)
9. Alexander Isak — pace, finishing and dribbling
Isak is a useful established-starter candidate if your system benefits from a forward who can combine speed with the ball at his feet. Outsider Gaming reports 81 OVR and 86 potential and highlights sprint speed, finishing and dribbling. (Outsider Gaming)

10. Jonathan David — pace and finishing
David is another more established option, with a profile the cited guide describes around pace and finishing. Outsider Gaming reports 81 OVR and 84 potential. Consider him when you want a forward who can contribute sooner rather than making the signing solely for a long-term ceiling. (Outsider Gaming)
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which option fits your budget?
Squawka organizes its young-striker choices into under £5m, £5m–£20m and £20m-plus groups. These are guide categories, not prices guaranteed in a particular save. Its examples include Emilio Aristizabal, Nelson Weiper and Ricardo Pepi in the under-£5m group; Tel, Ferguson, Sergio Camello and Moukoko in the £5m–£20m group; and Wahi and Højlund in the £20m-plus group. Check the fee, release clause and willingness to negotiate in your own save before committing. (Squawka)
When a different profile is a better fit
If you want an alternative to Félix, Julián Álvarez is a defensible option: Outsider Gaming reports 80 OVR and 86 potential, and Charlie INTEL also includes him among young forward options. As with Félix, check his in-game position and role rather than assuming he is a natural number nine in every setup. (Outsider Gaming; Charlie INTEL)
FC 24 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, according to EA’s official FC 24 page.
