EA now presents EA Play as its subscription for access to a changing collection of games, selected trials, member rewards, and discounts on eligible EA digital purchases. For PC players considering the old service, the practical choice today is between standard EA Play and EA Play Pro—not a new Origin Access subscription.
Is Origin Access still available?
EA’s current membership offering is EA Play. The Origin Access name is historical; EA’s current pages describe EA Play rather than a membership sold under the Origin Access name. EA’s membership page describes access to “a collection of EA titles,” trials of select new games, member rewards, and a discount on eligible EA digital purchases. Benefits and catalog entries can change, so check the live offer before joining. See EA’s current EA Play membership information.
What replaced Origin Access?
For PC players, EA Play is the current membership to compare. It offers access to a collection of included titles rather than every EA game, alongside selected trials and other membership benefits. EA also offers EA Play Pro, a higher PC tier with additional premium-edition game access and early access to select new games. The exact games and offers depend on the current catalog and terms.
EA Play vs. EA Play Pro on PC
| What to compare | EA Play | EA Play Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Included games | Access to a collection of EA titles through the Play List; the exact catalog can change. | EA describes Pro as unlimited access to a library of premium-edition EA games and fan-favorite series; the current library can change. |
| New releases | Trials of select new games may be offered. Inclusion is title-specific. | Early access to select new games is a stated benefit, but an EA release is not automatically included. Check the particular game’s offer. |
| PC availability | Check EA’s current membership page for supported platforms and storefront terms. | Available only through the EA app, not Steam or Epic Games Store. EA says Pro is unavailable in Brazil. |
| After membership ends | Play List access ends unless you separately have access to the game on that platform. | Membership-based access likewise ends unless you separately have platform access to the game. |
EA describes Pro’s benefits and restrictions in its EA Play Pro upgrade guidance. It does not establish a fixed catalog size or price here, so use EA’s current offer page for those details.

Is EA Play the same as Origin Access?
EA Play is the current membership relevant to someone searching for Origin Access, but the available current information does not establish the precise date or terms of the historical transition. It is safer to treat Origin Access as the older name and evaluate the current EA Play offer on its own terms, rather than assume every old plan detail carries over.
Does EA Play Pro include every new EA game?
No. EA cautions that a new release may not be included, even for Pro members. Availability can differ by title: a game might be in the Play List, offered as a limited trial or early-access benefit, or not included. Before subscribing for a particular release, confirm that title’s current offer and the platform it supports. EA explains this caveat in its Pro membership guidance.

Where do I use EA Play on PC?
Pro is available only through the EA app, not Steam or Epic, and EA says it is not available in Brazil. Standard EA Play has different platform and storefront arrangements; check the membership terms for the storefront where you intend to join. Some EA games require the EA app even when downloaded through Steam. EA’s PC membership guidance explains The Play List and the EA app requirement for some titles.
The storefront can also affect account management and support. Don’t assume that a membership bought through one PC storefront automatically transfers to another; verify the terms for that purchase route before joining.

What happens to my games if I cancel EA Play?
Membership access continues through the end of the applicable membership period. After it expires, Play List games are no longer playable through the membership unless you have separate access to them on that platform—for example, through a separate purchase. EA says saved progress remains as long as you have not manually deleted the save files. Its cancellation guidance explains what happens to Play List access, and its EA Play PC terms, last updated May 7, 2026, state that membership benefits end with the subscription or trial unless you separately have platform access to a title.

How to check whether a game is included
- Find the exact title and platform. Check the current EA Play offer or Play List entry for the PC version you plan to use.
- Read the benefit type. Confirm whether the game is included in the Play List, offered only as a trial or early access, or excluded. A trial is not the same as full catalog access.
- Check the storefront and app requirement. Confirm where the membership is being purchased and whether the game requires the EA app, even if you launch or download through Steam.
- Review the current membership terms. Check regional availability, the applicable period, and what happens to access when the membership ends.
