EA SPORTS FC 24 Manager Career adds a more explicit club-management layer built around a tactical philosophy, coaches and player preparation. Its headline addition is the Total Management System, which brings Tactical Visions and Coaches together; managers can also balance training against recovery and choose whether to watch, play or simulate matches. These are features EA described for the game at launch, not a guarantee that every detail behaves identically in the current build.
What was new in FC 24 Manager Career Mode?
EA separated Manager Career and Player Career into distinct Career experiences in FC 24. For Manager Career, EA’s central feature announcement was the Total Management System, combining two elements: Tactical Visions and Coaches. The aim was to make a club’s footballing approach and the staff supporting it more visible parts of management.

Other announced additions focused on squad preparation and match presentation: Training Plans, Match Ready Training, and Tactical View. EA also described dynamic celebrations, including open-top bus parades and awards events. The detailed feature descriptions below reflect EA’s launch-era overview.
How do Tactical Visions and coaches work?
Choose a tactical identity
EA described seven Tactical Visions, representing recognizable football philosophies. Its examples include Park the Bus, a defensive approach, and Gegenpressing, a high-pressure approach. A vision is distinct from a Game Plan: EA says you can use one vision across your plans or attach different visions to different plans. That lets a manager keep one consistent identity or vary the approach by plan.

Match staff to the vision
Coaches have knowledge ratings associated with Tactical Visions and departments. When a vision is selected, the game automatically assigns the most knowledgeable available coach in each department as its head, according to EA’s description. EA also presented hiring and staff development as part of the system, but its feature overview does not establish enough detail to make broader claims about how those processes work.
In practical terms, the staff layer is intended to support the philosophy you select: the relevant consideration is a coach’s knowledge for that vision and department, rather than simply choosing a vision in isolation.

How do Training Plans balance sharpness and recovery?
EA framed player preparation as a balance between Match Sharpness and Fitness or energy recovery over the season. Training Plans let a manager set each player’s emphasis, from performance-focused to energy-focused. The appropriate balance depends on the squad and circumstances such as injuries, suspensions and changes to the fixture calendar; EA did not describe one plan as universally optimal.
What is Match Ready Training?
Match Ready Training consists of focused drills in dribbling, defending, passing, shooting and set pieces. EA said managers could use sessions to focus on their own strengths or prepare for an opponent’s attack, and that drills can unlock temporary PlayStyles for players. This is EA’s announced feature description, not an independently verified account of current-build results.

Can you watch matches without controlling the team?
Yes. EA introduced Tactical View as a way to spectate matches using multiple camera angles, including a bird’s-eye view and a touchline perspective. During a match, managers can change the view, make quick tactical adjustments or switch Game Plans.
Tactical View is not the only way to follow a match: EA also described options to take direct control or move to Sim. Its overview says direct control can be selected from the pause menu, while Sim advances to the final whistle. That gives managers a choice between watching, stepping in to play, and simulating the remainder.
