EatMe.io Review: What the Junglee Games Fish-Survival Game Offered

Junglee Games’ EatMe.io was a fast underwater multiplayer game about eating smaller fish and avoiding larger predators. Here’s what its launch-era pitch established—and what remains unknown about availability and servers.

EatMe.io was a Junglee Games mobile multiplayer game built around a simple underwater survival loop: eat smaller fish, avoid larger predators, and try to top the leaderboard. The publisher announced its US launch for iOS and Android on December 8, 2016. That history does not establish whether the game can still be downloaded or played today.

What was EatMe.io?

Junglee Games presented EatMe.io as a quick underwater contest in which players grew by eating smaller fish while steering clear of larger ones. The publisher’s launch announcement described battles lasting up to two minutes, with the player who ate the most fish topping the leaderboard. These are launch-era descriptions, not confirmation of how a current build performs.

Junglee Games CMO Satya Mahapatra summed up the launch pitch as: “EatMe.io is a fresh and innovative game that emphasizes on the battle of survival, deep in the ocean with one simple rule: Munch or become someone else’s lunch!” The line captures the game’s basic risk-and-growth hook, though it is promotional language rather than an independent assessment.

How did its gameplay and progression work?

Short survival matches

The two-minute match limit suggested a fast, immediately legible format: eat what you can, avoid threats, and compete for the top spot before the round ends. The available launch information establishes this broad loop but does not document detailed controls, map design, balance, or how progression worked during an actual match.

Leaderboards, tournaments, and friends

The publisher also promoted leaderboards, month-long tournaments with rewards, and the ability to invite friends through Facebook. Its announcement described a shop offering tournament tickets, fish bowls, and game resources. Those features belong to the 2016 launch-era pitch; they should not be read as proof that tournaments, social features, or purchases remain available.

Is EatMe.io still available on Android or iOS?

Current availability is not established. Junglee Games announced a US release for both iOS and Android on December 8, 2016, but a launch announcement only confirms historical platform support.

AppBrain, a secondary Android app tracker, reports that EatMe.io was removed from Google Play on July 18, 2023. The same tracker lists version 3.8.5 as last updated on September 2, 2020. This is tracker-reported listing history, not an official removal notice from Google or Junglee Games. Whatoplay retains a historical entry listing Android and iOS, but that entry does not verify current store presence. The current iOS listing and the game’s server status have not been verified, so there is no reliable basis to say whether the multiplayer service still works or whether active matches can be found.

What can a review say about it today?

As a historical concept, EatMe.io had an easy-to-understand premise and a short-round structure suited to quick mobile sessions. Its appeal depended on the tension between growing and staying out of reach of larger fish, with leaderboard competition and tournaments providing goals beyond a single round.

That is not a hands-on verdict on touch controls, visuals, matchmaking, performance, ads, or balance. A 2026 review page describes a similar grow-and-survive formula and discusses controls, visuals, upgrades, and monetization, but it does not provide a verified basis here for claims about a current build. Without confirmed access to the game and its services, those qualities cannot responsibly be rated as present-day gameplay.

What is known about purchases and player figures?

The 2016 publisher announcement described virtual goods and purchases, including fish bowls, tournament tickets, and resources; Whatoplay also labels the title as including microtransactions. This supports a historical in-game purchase context, not current prices, purchase availability, or present-day monetization.

AppBrain’s page reports 5,000,000+ Android downloads and 44,032 reviews or ratings for its listing, but the page provides no publication date for those figures. They are secondary tracker numbers, not current official performance statistics. Whatoplay’s displayed player scores are its own scoring measure, not official store ratings.

Is EatMe.io the same as EatMe – Cosmic Feast?

No. This review concerns Junglee Games’ underwater multiplayer title, where fish eat smaller fish and avoid larger predators. The similarly named EatMe – Cosmic Feast is a separate app and should not be confused with EatMe.io.
