Does the Edens Zero game follow the anime?
It adapts the Edens Zero manga and anime, with the campaign retelling the original story and adding game-exclusive story content and quests. The setup begins on Granbell, a planet in the Sakura Cosmos, where Shiki lives among androids before meeting Rebecca and setting off into space. Konami says Hiro Mashima and Kodansha had input during production, and that Mashima wrote new material for the game to expand the series’ lore.

That makes the game more than a scene-by-scene retelling, but the available information does not establish how much of the campaign is new or how its additions compare with the anime’s version of the story. How does combat and progression work?
Konami describes the game as a third-person, real-time action RPG. Characters have distinct combat styles built around Ether Gear, combos, finishing attacks, Overboost, and Special Skills. Players can switch party members to suit a fight, upgrade weapons and armor, and choose among eight playable characters listed on Konami’s European product page.
These systems give the combat a clear character-switching framework, but a feature list alone cannot establish how responsive or varied the action feels in play. What exploration and side content does it offer?
Blue Garden is the advertised open-world hub for exploration and quests. Konami lists more than 200 quests and more than 700 pieces of equipment, along with character appearance customization and a recruitable crew. Aboard the EDENS ZERO, players can expand ship facilities, buy and sell items, upgrade equipment, and cook items that provide buffs.
Those are publisher-listed features and counts, not independent measures of quest quality, content variety, or campaign length. They indicate a broad set of progression hooks, but do not by themselves show whether the activities remain engaging over time—a relevant caveat given that repetition appears among the critical reservations.

What platforms is the Edens Zero game on?
Edens Zero released worldwide on July 15, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Konami’s official franchise site says a demo is available and that demo save data can carry over to the full game. Trying the demo is a practical way to sample the action, though its contents and performance are not established as representative of the entire game.
Platform-specific performance comparisons, current pricing, and the latest patch status are not established here, so there is no sound basis for ranking one version above another.

Is Edens Zero good for fans, and what is its age rating?
Fans of Mashima’s space-fantasy world have the clearest reason to give the game a look: it brings the familiar cast into a playable adventure and adds story material. Players seeking especially crisp action or a consistently fresh quest loop should weigh the reported combat and repetition issues more heavily.
The ESRB rates the game Teen for Mild Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. Its rating summary describes attacks with punches, kicks, swords, guns, and spells, cinematic finishing moves, brief stylized blood in cutscenes, and revealing designs for some female characters.
