The available FC 26 database data identifies seven League One candidates, but it does not verify enough details to call them a definitive, age-qualified top-seven wonderkid list. The strongest fully specified rows are J. Kenny and W. Fish; five more players appear in the database’s featured wonderkids section, with potential figures but incomplete age and attribute data.
Use these as leads, not guaranteed transfer targets. The figures below are from Futship’s FC 26 database, accessed in 2026, and should be checked against the squad update loaded in your save.

What “wonderkid” means here—and what the data supports
For this shortlist, a wonderkid means a young Career Mode player with notable listed potential above his current overall. The available database excerpt does not establish a universal age cutoff or show complete age and overall data for every candidate, so it cannot support a strict ranking of seven verified wonderkids.
EA says players can download squad updates in Career Mode to receive current transfers and player ratings. Because clubs and ratings can shift between updates, check the loaded squad data before making a signing decision. See EA’s Career Mode guidance.

Two candidates with age, overall and potential listed
Futship’s FC 26 League One database excerpt gives these two players the most complete set of figures. The values are in-game database entries, not real-world performance measurements.
| Player | Age | OVR | POT | Listed value | Club shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| J. Kenny | 22 | 70 | 77 | €3.3M | Bolton Wanderers |
| W. Fish | 22 | 70 | 76 | €2.3M | Cardiff City |
Both have a seven- or six-point gap, respectively, between their listed overall and potential. Their ages and ratings make them practical starting points if you want a player who is already at 70 OVR while retaining listed room to develop. The database excerpt does not provide wages, release clauses or transfer fees, so the listed value should not be treated as a quoted asking price. View the FC 26 League One database.

Five more featured candidates with potential listed
The same Futship database’s featured wonderkids section names these players and their listed potential. It does not show their ages or complete attributes in the available excerpt, so verify those details in your selected squad update before deciding whether they meet your age cutoff or fit your team.
| Player | Position shown | Club shown | Listed POT | Age and OVR in excerpt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| D. Lawlor | CB | Cardiff City | 82 | Not stated in the excerpt |
| R. Kpakio | RB | Cardiff City | 82 | Not stated in the excerpt |
| A. Cozier-Duberry | RM | Bolton Wanderers | 80 | Not stated in the excerpt |
| O. Kellyman | CAM | Cardiff City | 80 | Not stated in the excerpt |
| O. Irow | LM | Mansfield Town | 80 | Not stated in the excerpt |
These potential figures make the five worth checking when you need a centre-back, right-back, right midfielder, attacking midfielder or left midfielder. The excerpt does not establish their current overalls, so it is not possible to compare how close each is to his listed ceiling or to label them immediate starters versus longer-term projects.

How to use the list in your save
- Load current squads: In Career Mode setup, download the latest squad update using EA’s in-game squad-update option, then start or load the relevant career. Menu labels may vary by platform or update.
- Search each player by name: Confirm that the player appears at the listed club in your loaded database; do not assume a third-party database snapshot matches your save.
- Check age, position and OVR: For the five featured candidates, verify age and current overall before treating them as wonderkids under your preferred cutoff. Check position and attributes against the role you need.
- Evaluate the transfer in context: Compare the game’s current asking price and wage demands with your budget. The database’s listed values are not transfer-fee quotes.
- Plan development realistically: Treat potential as a planning estimate, not a promise that the player will reach that overall in every career. EA documents development mechanics, but individual outcomes depend on the save.
Why the shortlist is not a definitive ranking
Futship is a third-party game database, not official EA documentation, and says it is not affiliated with EA. EA’s help guidance explains Career Mode and squad updates but does not publish this individual League One potential list. Database season, club affiliation and ratings can vary with squad updates, so values should not be mixed with another game year or treated as fixed across saves.
