Elden Ring’s curved greatsword class contains 12 weapons, and their value depends on build, moveset and skill as much as attack rating. This ranking treats the available 2024 creator list as a reference rather than importing it as a definitive order: the list omits Hefty Scimitar, calls itself “All 11,” and gives conflicting patch labels.
How to read this ranking
A complete, independently verified ordering of all 12 weapons cannot be established from the available comparison. Rather than inventing ranks for missing or unverified entries, the table below preserves the 11 positions actually named by Youwy’s September 18, 2024 PvE video and identifies the omitted weapon separately. The video title mentions patch 1.16, while its description says patch 1.14, so the ranking’s precise version context is uncertain. It is a dated creator opinion, not a current consensus or a PvP ranking.
The order is useful as a starting point, not a verdict for every character. A fair comparison should account for stat investment, reach and commitment, skill utility, normal and jumping attacks, infusion or buff options, and how early or laboriously a weapon can be acquired. Fully verified comparative data for those factors across the class is not available here.

The missing twelfth weapon
Hefty Scimitar
Eldenpedia’s indexed curved greatsword class page lists Hefty Scimitar, but it does not appear in the video’s 11 named positions. Its place in a complete PvE ranking is therefore not stated. It would be misleading to assign it an invented rank or to call the creator’s list a full class ranking.
The class inventory page lists all 12 as Hefty Scimitar, Dismounter, Omen Cleaver, Monk’s Flameblade, Beastman’s Cleaver, Freyja’s Greatsword, Bloodhound’s Fang, Onyx Lord’s Greatsword, Zamor Curved Sword, Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword, Horned Warrior’s Greatsword and Morgott’s Cursed Sword. The indexed page was crawled recently, but a direct fetch was unavailable; verify inventory and mechanics against the game or an accessible current reference when precision matters.

Why moveset can matter more than a stat-sheet comparison
The class is not mechanically uniform. Eldenpedia’s indexed descriptions highlight several attacks that can change how a weapon performs in practice:
- Bloodhound’s Fang: the reference reports notably high motion values on one- and two-handed jumping light attacks and jumping heavy attacks, making those attacks deal more damage than its ordinary attack rating might suggest.
- Zamor Curved Sword: its twirling light attacks are described as slightly slower but dealing slightly more damage.
- Omen Cleaver and Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword: two-handed heavy, charged heavy and jumping heavy attacks use short-range guillotine chops.
- Onyx Lord’s Greatsword: the reference reports 20% more damage against gravity-aspected enemies.
- Freyja’s Greatsword: the reference reports increased damage from Redmane-affiliated skills.
These are mechanics reported by the indexed reference, not fresh in-game testing, and exact behavior should be checked against the current game version. They also show why a universal order can mislead: a weapon’s standout attack or conditional bonus may matter more for one build or enemy than for another.

Choosing a curved greatsword for your build
- Start with your stats and intended investment. Compare a weapon’s requirements and scaling with the build you actually plan to use; a ranking that ignores stat cost cannot establish best-in-slot for every character.
- Try the full moveset. Reach, attack commitment, jumping attacks and two-handed heavies affect whether you can land damage safely, particularly against mobile enemies.
- Assess the skill in context. Consider whether its value comes from a quick, repeatable effect or depends on completing a longer sequence, and whether the weapon’s skill bonus has a relevant condition.
- Include availability in the decision. A strong option is less useful if its acquisition timing or farming burden does not suit your current playthrough. The available comparison does not establish acquisition effort for all 12.
- Do not transfer a PvE order to PvP. The only located ranking is labeled PvE; it does not support a PvP ranking.
What the ranking can—and cannot—settle
The reference list makes Bloodhound’s Fang the clear leader of that particular 2024 PvE comparison. It does not settle the best curved greatsword on the current patch, establish a complete rank for Hefty Scimitar, or show how all 12 compare across builds and acquisition costs. Treat the positions as a dated starting point and choose based on the weapon’s fit for your character and the attacks you will actually use.
