S tier: Rivers of Blood
Rivers of Blood brings a katana moveset and the Corpse Piler skill. Its requirements—12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 20 Arcane—make it a different stat commitment from the Sacred Spear, while GameSpot lists 50 blood-loss buildup. Pro Game Guides also places it in S tier. Choose it if the katana category and its signature skill appeal more than the great spear’s reach and area-focused skill; the sources do not establish that one wins in every encounter.
A tier: Eleonora’s Poleblade
Eleonora’s Poleblade is a twinblade with Bloodblade Dance. It requires 12 Strength, 21 Dexterity, and 19 Arcane, and GameSpot lists 55 blood-loss buildup. Pro Game Guides ranks it A rather than S. Its faster-hit twinblade identity makes it a useful alternative for players who want a different rhythm from either of the S-tier choices, not a proven across-the-board upgrade or downgrade.

How to choose for your build
- Check attribute requirements first. The Sacred Spear asks for the most Strength and Arcane of these three; Rivers of Blood and Eleonora’s Poleblade demand less Strength but different amounts of Dexterity and Arcane. Requirements tell you whether you can wield a weapon, not which will perform best with your complete build.
- Pick the moveset you want to use. Compare a great spear, katana, and twinblade rather than treating the tier label as a substitute for weapon feel. Their signature skills—Bloodboon Ritual, Corpse Piler, and Bloodblade Dance—also offer distinct ways to attack.
- Separate PvE and PvP priorities. Enemy encounters and player-versus-player fights reward different practical considerations. The rankings cited here do not establish a current PvP or PvE winner, so treat them as candidates to compare against your own goals rather than a verified meta report.
- Account for opportunity cost. Investing in Strength, Dexterity, or Arcane for one weapon affects the rest of your character plan. Compare the requirements with your existing distribution before spending levels to meet them.
- Consider where you are in the game. These weapons are acquired at different points and through different routes; a high tier is not useful if your character cannot yet reach the item.

- Rivers of Blood: defeat Bloody Finger Okina at the Church of Repose.
- Eleonora’s Poleblade: defeat Bloody Finger Eleonora at the Second Church of Marika.

For dated balance context, Bandai Namco Europe’s version 1.12 patch notes document reduced Arcane-scaled status-buildup enhancement for Ripple Blade and Ripple Crescent Halberd, as well as increased attribute scaling for the Dragon Communion Seal. Those notes establish changes in version 1.12; they do not establish that no later update changed balance.
What about the Dragon Communion Seal?
The Dragon Communion Seal is a casting tool, not a melee weapon, so it does not belong in this weapon tier list. It may still be relevant when planning an Arcane-focused build: Pro Game Guides includes it in S tier, and Bandai Namco Europe’s version 1.12 notes document an increase to its attribute scaling. That is a separate support-option consideration, not a weapon placement.
