Cross West Rampart to enter the upper ruins. If you are looking for the Rauh Ruins map fragment, that is in the separate, lower Rauh Base valley, reached through a cave north of Moorth Ruins.
Choose the route for your destination
“Rauh” can mean the elevated Ancient Ruins or the lower Rauh Base. The route and destination differ:

The elevated route uses Rauh Ancient Ruins, East and West as checkpoints. The map-fragment route does not pass through those upper ruins.
What you need before entering the DLC
Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion for Elden Ring. To access it, defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, and Starscourge Radahn, then interact with the Withered Arm at the Cocoon of the Empyrean. A guide recommends level 150 or higher, but that is its recommendation, not a game access requirement. PowerPyx’s DLC access guide

For the upper Ancient Ruins route, the relevant starting point is Storehouse, First Floor in Shadow Keep. The transition into Rauh is across West Rampart.
Upper route: Shadow Keep to Church of the Bud
1. Cross West Rampart from Shadow Keep
- Fast-travel to Storehouse, First Floor.
- Take the west exit and cross West Rampart. This brings you into the elevated Rauh region, near Viaduct Minor Tower.
2. Reach Rauh Ancient Ruins, East
- From Viaduct Minor Tower, follow the passage through the ruins. The route guide describes the initial turns as straight, right, left, then straight, leading to a central room with a large torch and four pillars.
- In the torch room, drop through the open floor while mounted. Continue through the large gate.
- Descend through the floor opening with a wind torrent, then follow the passage outside along the cliffside.
- Activate Rauh Ancient Ruins, East.
3. Cross the bridge to Rauh Ancient Ruins, West
- From East, head west and descend to the bridge.
- Cross southwest, pass the fire giant, and take the path on the left to Rauh Ancient Ruins, West.
4. Find the elevator and continue to the Church
- From West, enter the next section of ruins and follow the stairs past the enemy that rolls red projectiles.
- Continue outside and enter the next labyrinth section. The route guide describes this area as flooded with bloody water and occupied by ranged enemies; stay to the left to find the elevator.
- Take the elevator up, then head southwest up the stairs and continue to Church of the Bud, Main Entrance.
Rauh Ancient Ruins, West is the last major checkpoint described before the approach to the Church. The route sources describe vertical navigation and hostile encounters, but do not provide a measured completion time or quantified difficulty. Lower route: Rauh Base and the map fragment
- Go to Moorth Ruins and look for the water pool and cave entrance north of the Site of Grace.
- Follow the cave through to the northwest valley. The Rauh Ruins map fragment is in this lower Rauh Base area.
The route guide says you must defeat Rellana before reaching this approach. This cave route is separate from the Shadow Keep entrance to the elevated Ancient Ruins. See PowerPyx’s map fragment guide for the fragment’s location.
