The footage has not been authenticated as part of the movie by A24 or Bandai Namco. The live-action film is official, but these clips are not an official first look.
Is the Elden Ring movie footage real?
Online posts and videos were reported, but the sources reviewed do not establish that the footage came from the Elden Ring movie production. Visual similarities to the game and circumstantial location or construction clues are not official confirmation.

That distinction matters: the film itself was announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 in May 2025, with Alex Garland writing and directing. Neither company has authenticated the circulating clips in the cited reports.
What do the reported set videos show?
The church-like structure and props
Kotaku reported on April 4, 2026, that THROX shared footage of a structure that appeared to resemble a Church of Marika. THROX told Kotaku the set was somewhere in England and said a friend had spotted it first. The streamer also described additional video showing barrels and wooden carriages. Kotaku noted that the structure did not exactly match any Church of Marika in the game, so its identity and meaning remain uncertain. Kotaku’s report.

Construction materials and equipment
PC Gamer’s April 4 report described a ruined stone structure, a statue resembling Marika, wagons, barrels, construction materials and equipment. It also noted cinderblocks bearing the name Hedgehog Construction, whose website describes scenery work for film and television. Those details may suggest a working set, but they do not identify the production. PC Gamer reporter Tyler Colp put the caveat plainly: “None of this confirms the set has anything to do with the movie.” PC Gamer’s report.
A separate clip from Conwy Castle
A later PC Gamer report covered a TikTok clip showing costumed sentries at Conwy Castle in Wales. The report referenced a local story about a planned castle closure for filming on a project that “could be linked with Alex Garland,” but said the video did not definitively point to Elden Ring. What is confirmed about the Elden Ring movie?
Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 announced the live-action adaptation on May 26, 2025. Alex Garland is attached as writer and director. The announcement named Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA Films, George R. R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis as producers. Read the announcement from Bandai Namco.
In an April 20, 2026 update, Bandai Namco said the film was in production, would be filmed for IMAX, and was scheduled for theatrical release on March 3, 2028. The announced cast is Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird and Peter Serafinowicz. Has filming wrapped?
A later report said filming had wrapped, citing a since-deleted Instagram post by prop artist Sean Schofield. The post reportedly thanked cast and crew and described “Six solid months of blood, sweat, and tears making the coolest stuff ever.” Because the update depends on a deleted social post and secondary reporting, it should be treated as a reported production update, not a current official announcement. There are no verified competing versions of the leaked clip to compare, and the available reports do not supply official authentication from A24 or Bandai Namco. The church’s resemblance to a game location, the statue’s apparent resemblance to Marika, and possible filming activity at a castle are observations—not proof of the movie’s scenes, characters or story.
