When did Elden Ring Nightreign test codes go out?
Bandai Namco announced the closed network test on January 10, 2025, with the event scheduled for February 14–17, 2025. Its announcement invited players to register for a chance to participate; it did not promise access to everyone who signed up. Bandai Namco’s announcement describes the test as a preview of the game’s co-op experience.

The test was limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Steam had appeared in the registration form in error, according to a later platform update, which asked affected registrants to select an eligible console platform. The update did not extend the test to PC.
Did registering guarantee a code?
No. The North American platform-update notice says winners were randomly selected and contacted by email. It also says that registering—or updating a platform selection—did not guarantee a code. These were terms in that notice, not a global statement of eligibility for every region.

The original announcement offered a chance to join, and the European rules explicitly said no purchase was required. Buying Elden Ring Nightreign was not a way to obtain access to the closed test.

What was the network test?
It was a limited, closed preview of a standalone multiplayer co-op PvE game set in the ELDEN RING universe. Bandai Namco said squads of three would try to survive a three day-and-night cycle, face increasingly difficult enemies and bosses, and ultimately challenge a Nightlord. The publisher’s January 10, 2025 announcement describes that format; the test was intended to let players try co-op, rather than provide ongoing access to the released game.

The full game was announced for release on May 30, 2025. FromSoftware’s release announcement also noted a test gameplay guide. Bandai Namco’s official game page contains later update notices, including one dated March 31, 2026. Those game updates are distinct from the completed 2025 network test.
