An FPS-unlock method was described by a creator in 2025, but its compatibility with the current build is unverified. That means the claim that the game “still carries” the lock—and that a mod will fix it again—should be treated as unconfirmed, not as current patch-note fact.
What the latest official PC update confirms
Bandai Namco’s July 2, 2026 Steam update notice lists App Ver. 1.03.3 and Regulation Ver. 1.03.5, and says the update is required for online play. It mentions certain software updates for the PC version, but does not state whether the frame-rate ceiling changed. Read the July 2 Steam update notice.
A later official notice, dated September 18, 2026, is for PS4 and PS5. It lists App Ver. 1.03.4 / Regulation Ver. 1.03.5 and describes network-security changes; it is not a newer Steam build notice. Read the September 18 console notice.
Bandai Namco’s January 15, 2026 notes cover PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam at App Ver. 1.03.2 / Regulation Ver. 1.03.4. The reviewed notes describe gameplay and bug fixes, not an FPS-cap change. Read the January 2026 patch notes.

What is known about FPS-unlock mods
Geek Bastion published a video titled “Unlock Elden Ring Nightreign 60 FPS Cap” on June 4, 2025. Its description says the method disables Easy Anti-Cheat and is intended for offline play, with online functionality unavailable in that setup. That is a dated creator’s description—not official developer guidance, a guarantee about bans, or confirmation that the method works with the October 2026 build. A Steam Community announcement result identifies official Patch Notes 1.01.3, dated June 18, 2025, but the available excerpt does not establish whether that update changed the FPS cap. View the Steam announcement.

What to do if you want more than 60 FPS
- Check the build first. In Steam, verify that the game is updated before relying on advice tied to an older version. The latest located official PC notice identifies App Ver. 1.03.3 / Regulation Ver. 1.03.5 as of July 2, 2026.
- Look for current maintainer documentation. Before using an unlocker, confirm that its maintainer explicitly supports your build and explains its anti-cheat and online-play implications. The 2025 creator description does not establish current compatibility.
- Do not assume an offline modification is suitable for online play. The described 2025 method says it disables Easy Anti-Cheat and prevents online functionality. The evidence does not establish that any unlock method is safe for matchmaking or online use.
- Do not buy a monitor as a fix for a software cap. A high-refresh-rate display cannot by itself remove a limit imposed by the game.
Platform context
Elden Ring Nightreign is available on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. KADOKAWA’s May 30, 2025 fact sheet describes it as a co-op action survival game, notes single-player support, and lists PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. Bandai Namco lists a Standard Edition containing the base game. These platform facts do not establish that console editions have the same PC frame-rate behavior.
